And… Our Vacation Is Over

Mastermind Weekend 1/16

Hey there!

I'm Tina

I’m the owner of Carrots ‘N’ Cake as well as a Certified Nutrition Coach and Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner (FDN-P). I use macros and functional nutrition to help women find balance within their diets while achieving their body composition goals.

An in-depth, 4-week reverse dieting course for women who feel like their metabolism has slowed down, think they might have hormonal imbalance and can’t lose weight no matter what they do.

I’m not sure what Mal and I were more bummed about this morning: our vacation ending or the red eye flight back to Boston. We both tried to sleep on the plane, but it just didn’t happen. No matter what I tried, I couldn’t get comfortable.

When we landed at Logan, Mal and I then had to navigate our way home via public transportation (bus to train to taxi), which wasn’t nearly as fun as sitting by the pool at The Wynn. Even still, I’m glad to be home. I love vacation, but I was ready to get back to my ”˜normal’ life.

At South Station, Mal and I had about 45 minutes to kill before our train home, so we grabbed a quick breakfast. I went with oatmeal from Cosi; Mal opted for McDonald’s.

The Cosi oatmeal was surprisingly awesome. I actually like it better than Starbucks oatmeal. The consistency is thicker and heartier, and I liked being able to pick my toppings. I added pistachios, granola, and dried cranberries.

Despite the exhausting travels home, I found the May issue of People StyleWatchwith the one-page article about my book! It’s so cool!!!!

Feel Great Weight

Last week, I received this email from a reader:

Hi Tina,
Hope you are well! I have a question/potential blog topic for you. I have noticed that the more progress I see in my body due to workouts and diets, the more likely I am to slack off or allow myself more food. Maybe this is human nature? Do you struggle with this and do you have any tips on how to combat it?

Check out my response over on the FGW blog: 4 Ways to Stop Slacking Off on Your Diet

Question of the Day

One of my goals for the day is to clean up my Google Reader. For months, it’s been at 1000+ items, so I really want to streamline the blogs that I read as well as add some new ones to my list. I know a lot of you guys like to learn about new blogs as well, so please feel free to share your favorites!

Which blog(s) do you absolutely have to read every day?

P.S. Stay tuned for my recaps from Vegas!

  1. Can’t start my morning without (well it wouldn’t be a GOOD morning without) CNC. My other obsessions ( 🙂 ) are as follows:
    Meals & Moves
    PB Fingers
    How Sweet it is
    Run Eat Repeat
Love this question because through other blogs I found all of my above listed favs and they have all changed my life in the most positive way ever! Looking forward to add more greatness to my GoogleReader with these comments thanks Tina!

  5. I’ll have to try Cosi the next time I’m at South Station 🙂

  12. I’m so glad you posted this question because this is my main problem with trying to lose weight. I’ll get to a point when I’m starting to feel good and notice changes in my body and then BAM! I fall right off the health wagon until I’m feeling bloated and my jeans are uncomfortable and then back at it I go. I hate it.

  20. Fascinating, almost everyone is listing other healthy living blogs! I read a lot of chocolate review blogs …. I feel a bit out of the norm 😛

  21. ohhh, I love reading these blogs:
    Carrots ‘N’ Cake <– 🙂
    Sweet Tooth Sweet Life
    Young House Love
    Three Men and a Lady

I love love LOVE that Sweet Tooth Sweet Life, Young House Love, and MODG all have fan pages on facebook and post on fb a link to new blog posts — I wish Carrots 'N' Cake did that, I've tried finding a page on fb, but haven't been able to! I don't like "subscribing" to blogs because I get WAY too many emails — but when I log onto fb, it's during my "down" time and that when I love notices about new blog posts that I can read without having to go to all the individual pages to see if there is anything new.

  22. Healthy tipping point
    Daily garnish
    Kath eats
    Oh she glows
    Eat live run
    Skinny runner
    Hungry runner girl
    Leftovers for lunch

    Peas and thank you
=my faves in no order <3
