After breakfast, Mal and I checked out of the Hawaii Prince Hotel and drove to Ala Moana Beach Park, which is located between Waikiki and downtown Honolulu, to do some stand-up paddleboarding.

Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told it was too windy and unsafe to paddleboard. Bummer. It was still a gorgeous day and we were in Hawaii, so Mal and I enjoyed the beach, went swimming in the ocean, and then took a walk around the park.

My bathing suit cover up (tunic dress) is from Albion Fit, who sent it to me to try out for free. It’s comfy and really flattering. The fabric hangs straight down, so it’s slimming and doesn’t flare out like a moo-moo. Haha!

Oahu is gorgeous!

After our time at Ala Moana Beach Park, we checked into our second hotel where we’ll stay for the remainder of the trip. We had a couple of hours to kill before the next activity on our agenda, so Mal and I headed to the hotel pool and enjoyed a cocktail.

I was being indecisive with my cocktail selection, so the bartender offered to make me a drink. He asked what I liked, so I told him “not too sweet” and then jokingly added “and boozy.” He ended up making me what he called a “Hawaiian Creeper,” which was Hawaiian moonshine, Kinky liqueur (blood orange + passion fruit), pineapple juice, and soda water, and it was SO GOOD! Exactly what I wanted! The bartender called it a “Hawaiian Creeper” because it tastes so delicious, you end up drinking them so quickly and then the booze creeps up on you! Ha!

After a couple of hours by the pool, Mal and I headed to the Ala Moana Farmers’ Market, which was located on the upper level of the parking garage near Sears in the Ala Moana Center (holy shopping – so many stores and restaurants!!).

The farmers’ market is held every Tuesday from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM and Saturday from 8:00 AM-noon.

Mal and I wandered around for awhile and checked out the various vendors. We saw lots of fresh fruits and veggies as well as other prepared foods and treats.

Including healthy dog treats! I bought some heart-shaped sweet potato cookies for Murphy. Shhh! Don’t tell him! Haha!

Dinner

After the farmers’ market, Mal and I were starving for dinner. We drove back to the hotel and then headed out in search of food. We didn’t walk for long because we stumbled upon a Yard House right outside our hotel. At first, I was like: No way, we’re not eating at a Yard House in Hawaii. We have them back home.

But then we heard music playing and saw hula dancers nearby, so we figured why not? It looked like a fun place to have dinner and we were getting a little Polynesian culture at the same time.

Mal and I scored a seat outside at the Yard House with a great view of the performers.

As an appetizer, we started with truffle fries (obviously).

To drink, I ordered a Skinny Margarita with salt.

And, for my entrée, I ordered some pork tacos with pineapple and avocado with rice on the side. They were excellent and definitely hit the spot!

After dinner, Mal and I walked around for a little bit and then headed back to our hotel for the night. Check out the amazing sunset views from our room!

We ended up sitting on our balcony and talking for a few hours.

We grabbed a couple of drinks from the hotel happy hour, so we had some good laughs too!
