Tina – my prayers are with you, your family and friends who may have been near the bombing at the Boston Marathon.
Hi Tina,
I’ve been reading your blog ( from New Zealand!) for several months now. Just want to say THANK YOU for existing! I’ve changed so many things about my diet and fitness since I started reading. You are the bomb diggity.
Random- I too was a waitress one summer on Block Island, and we also drank on the job, ( and prob before and after too). Must have gained 20 lbs that summer! Still paying for it. Anyways I love you! Kia Ora 🙂
Tina,
I love your blog! I belong to a boot camp program in Tulsa, Oklahoma and our trainer/nutritionist suggested your blog to us. I always like to try your recipes, most recently I tried the garlic mustard sauce you add to drumsticks. Best chicken I’ve ever had! We don’t have a Trader Joe’s in Tulsa, but word on the street is we are getting one. I’m so excited! I am coming to Boston May 19-24 (first timer) for a conference and wondered if you have any restaurant suggestions or cool touristy things to do. Keep up the good work!
Sincerely,
Amanda
My family love this “Garlic Mustard Chicken” recipe that my son used to make it for this Mother’s Day. It sure was the best gift that he had given me.
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING.
That virtue surely makes this a much better world.
I sure would like to do the same if I could.
So glad you liked it! 🙂
Hi Tina! I have a question for you, given that you have had health issues as well. I have an autoimmune disease and have always been on certain “diets” to help with this. I have pretty much adapted everything i’ve read to fit my lifestyle, etc, but i’m always open to new programs or books. I read and LOVED The Whole 30 which was awesome!! Can you recommend any other books that you have enjoyed for healthy diet?
Thanks so much!
@Emily: Here are a few that I enjoyed! http://news.health.com/2011/04/05/weight-loss-books/
Hi Tina!
I recently started a blog (as recent as today actually!) and found yours while exploring what a “real” blog should look like! Thank you for posting such great information on starting a blog, and while I had already started a blogger account instead of your suggestion for wordpress, I hope to inspire people just as you have! I’d love to keep contact with you and any advice or information you can lend would be VERY much appreciated!
Nicole
Good luck with your new blog! Love the name! 🙂
Hi there-
Trying to figure out which “package” NASM to buy.
Seems like a lot of bells and whistles-
did you get basic/least expensive one-
I’m 50-something year old mom (two girls prob your age)/self described gym rat,
thinking about getting NASM certified-
thanks!
Stephanie
Nice!! I went with the basic (cheapest) option. Good luck!!!
Hi Tina! I’ve been reading your blog for a couple of months now. Can’t remember how I came across it, but it was around the same time I started a blog of my own, and you’ve been very inspiring. I love reading about your days and fitness experiences. Thank you for sharing!
Wendy
Thanks for reading CNC! 🙂
I know you’ve heard this before but I really, really like your blog. I am glad I have this summer off to read it and catch up.
Thanks for all of the tips (running gear) and race recaps. I look forward to reading your blog.
Hi Tina,
I’ve been reading your blog for several months now. THank you for all of your amazing info on diet and fitness.
I check your blog daily and always leave with great tips and info!
Thanks again for your work!
Hi Tina!
I am a freshman in college and I’ve been here for two weeks.
My jeans are ALREADY starting to get a little uncomfortably snug!
We have a full gym here but I’m feeling a little intimidated and need some inspiration.
Could you post some tips on healthy eating and exercising? Thanks!
Hi! I am a nurse from NYC and I have started crossfit for four months now. I have struggled with finding a balance between work, eating healthy and exercise due to my crazy schedule and hours. I am new to your blog and have to say it is very inspirational and love the recipes that you post! Thanks for posting.
Hello Tina!
I am a big fan of your blog, thanks for sharing all of your wonderful advice/stories/experiences!
I read through your NASM post and have just a quick question. I’ve been reading up a lot on the National Strength and Conditioning Association certification and was wondering if you considered it before deciding on NASM. It seems like a credible/appealing certification as well, so I didn’t know if you had any opinions about it.
Thanks!
It really just depends on your goals and what you want to do with the certification. NASM was the best fit for me. There’s a post on CNC about why I picked it. Hope it helps! 😄
Hi Tina! I would love to work with you and have you do a giveaway of my plant-based cleanse program on your blog. I am happy to send you a copy of the cleanse to check it out beforehand to see if you’d be interested! LOVE your site and all that you do. You rock.
I will admit, I had never heard of you but I was looking up information on a Pottery Barn shelf and happened upon an article about hanging one you had posted. I explored a little to see more of your content and that is when it happened…
I fell in love with Murphy.
You are beautiful, do not misunderstand that I missed that (and Mal, I wish I had one like that to come home to!) but I have become enamored with Murphy.
I will continue to explore, I do love to learn new things and what I have seen is entertaining and informative. Keep up the good work! But, be sure to give Murphy the occasional spotlight that is so deserved.
Seasons greetings to you and your family!
Ross
I was just wondering if you still have your recipes all listed in one location. I thought I remember they used to be like that but I can’t find it now. Thanks!
Great blog. I’ve come back twice now for the watermelon & cucumber juice recipe.
Hi Tina,
Is there a reason that whenever I pull up your blog, if I don’t read it right away and have another tab open, your blog changes to a completely different website? And very random ones? I have read your blog for several years but this has been happening to me for the last 5 months at least.
Hmm… I’m not sure. Maybe it’s your browser? Are you using the most recent version. So sorry!
Tina,
I loved your Daily Challenge that you put on Instagram the other day. It was a great supplement to my daily run.
Thank you!!
Kara
So glad you liked it!!

I used to get daily emails with new posts but had to create a new email address. Is this option still available? I tried to subscribe to the newsletter but it did not work
Yep! Just sign up for the CNC newsletter. The box to sign up is on the right side of the main page.
I know I’m 2 years late…anyhoo, I feel motivated once again after reading your blog about working out when feeling nauseous during pregnancy. I’m 2 months pregnant with my 3rd baby. During my first 2 pregnancies, working out wasnt something I did as a hobby. After my 2nd child, I found workout to be my pick me up. Long story short, I’ve been really sick every day. I’ve been having food aversion. I thought about workout, but can’t get the energy or strength to do it. I miss it! I get depressed not doing it. I came across your blog and I’m inspired. Thank you. I will fight the feeling and workout.
Hi Tina! I am really impressed with your blog! I really think you have an ability to reach a large number of people and inspire them to improve and change their lives. I work with IdealShape/IdealFit. We are the fastest growing fitness company for women in the U.S. I would love to talk to you about working together! If this is something you are interested in, please let me know! You can contact me via email and I will do my best to get back to you! Thanks for everything you do, keep inspiring people! WE need it. 🙂
Hi Tina,
Would it be possible to give us an update on the Patchology Power Patch Dark Spot Corrector? If they are working, I will definitely give them a try. I have tried others, but haven’t really seen any results.
Thanks,
Stacey
They work pretty well on new dark spots, but old ones… eh. I haven’t noticed much of a difference.
HI I know this is a personal question…but are you able to share how you found your therapist?? i have been searching in the South Shore- sooo many to choose from. thank you
A friend referred her to me.
Hi Tina! I am a long time follower of your blog. My name is Mary Spivey and I am working with 261 Fearless to raise money for their amazing charity! They are a global organization that helps unite women through a non-completive running platform. The funds collected will go to education and training fo low income women to be 261 Fearless leaders. I was wondering if you would consider doing a feature piece with me to help raise funds for the organization. I look forward to hearing from you!
Kind Regards,
Mary Spivey

Hi Tina, I’ve been a blog reader for about 6 years (!) and love your content. I grew up playing high impact and fast paced sports (varsity rowing & hockey, to name a few), so have naturally gravitated to weight lifting, HIIT and crossfit-eque workouts. I’m really keen to get into running and would love some tips or a guide on how to start – do you have any blog posts on this or could you write something along these lines?
Thanks!
Hi Tina, thanks for the great stories that you tell, I am new in my running journey and have appreciated the candid truth that you tell. I continue to discover new content on your site that resonates well with my running journey. Hope you are well!
