Good morning and congrats to the New England Patriots on their Super Bowl win! What an exciting game!
Ok, let’s talk about the weekend. It was a really fun one for me. Here is a quick recap!
Baby in a bar. Lunch and day-drinking with some friends before the Super Bowl.
Live simple. Love big. This might be my new life motto.
Glazed donut. I needed one.
Post-run multitasking. Feeding Quinn. Icing my knees. Drinking a protein shake.
Bloody Mary. Pre-Super Bowl cocktails with friends.
Quinn’s βleisure suitβΒ (from ThredUp). Ridiculously adorable, right?
Spicy JalapeΓΒ±o & Pepper Jack Chicken Meatballs. Omg, OBSESSED. The folks from al fresco sent them to me to try, and I loooovvvee them. They taste amazing and they cook in just 75 seconds in the microwave. Instant protein. #macros
Last women standing after the KFIT Recipe Swap. I definitely stayed up too late on Friday night, but, man, it was fun!

Questions of the Day
Did you watch the Super Bowl last night? Are you happy with the outcome? Best commercial? Best thing you ate?
I was pretty neutral about who won the Super Bowl, but my family was having a texting war since some are huge Patriots fans and others are huge Seahawks fans. I just sat back and enjoyed!
Baby in a bar..so cute!! The donut and meatballs look amazing! Enjoy your weekend π
I didn’t watch the superbowl, instead i stayed home and watched Gone girl π and ate some bone marrow!
My husband was the only one of our friends rooting for New England last night (we’re NJ/NYers) although admittedly it was his affection for Tom Brady as well as wanting to root against his brother who lives in Seattle! He was of course thrilled with the outcome. I’m not sure if he was watching the game more or having a text war with his brother but either way he was occupied for hours.
It was such a good game that, as my dad said, it was a shame someone had to win. Those al fresco meatballs look amazing – I love al fresco products! Quinn’s leisure suit look is utterly adorable. Sounds like an excellent weekend π
GREAT game and thrilled with the outcome. I loved the Marsha Brady Snickers commercial and the Microsoft ones… Especially the little boy with prosthetics. I made buffalo chicken drumsticks for dinner, but most enjoyed the brownies for dessert!!
@Jillian: as And the #likeagirl Always commercial. Fantastic.
I didn’t have a preference as to who won since the Packers weren’t playing. I would like to see different teams play in the super bowl next year. We mad turkey veggie meatballs with spaghetti squash pasta during the game. Was delish!
While I didn’t watch the Superbowl, I did take advantage of some appetizers. My favorite were roasted red pepper hummus and veggies.
Best commercial– Always. “Run Like A Girl!!”
I loved that one too! π
I love that reference in Sweet Home Alabama. Lol…
I actually didn’t end up watching many of the commercials! I usually mostly look forward to the Budweiser Clydesdales commercial, and I didn’t see that one. Off to Google it!
Okay, I watched it… all the feels.
Sounds like a fun weekend! Glazed donuts are the best!!
We went to a “Souper Bowl” party last night that had a chili cook-off! There was so much good food. I think my favorite was a raspberry chipotle black bean dip. It was so unique and delicious! I was also SO excited about the outcome of the game. π
Fun! π
WHERE can I find those meatballs?? Whereohwhereohwhere??
Slash, I should just get my act together and make meatballs. Gauntlet, thrown.

They’re totally new and yummy — we’re so proud of them. Check out our store locator here: http://www.alfrescoallnatural.com/find-a-store
Tina – I just have to say you have the most adorable son. I just want to pick him up and squeeze him. I’m a mother of three boys, big boys. Two are in college and one in high school. I miss the days when they were little ones. Thanks for sharing your photos. I truly enjoy them. π
Aww, thanks! π
I don’t really care about football, but now that I’m at Boston University, I was totally rooting for the Pats! And now we have a snow day, so everyone is deeming these past two days the best ever π
Those meatballs! They look delicious! Also, I have to say that I was rooting for the Seahawks, yesterday, but I was glad the game was close…it made for an exciting night!
Oh man!!! My hubby and I couldn’t unglue our eyes from the T.V. What a great game. We are both Broncos fans, but love watching a good football game. We staying in last night to watch the game since we are both sick, so our eats were just yummy salads and chips and guac!
I wasn’t loving the commercials that much this year! My one and only favorite was the Dodge commercial with all the centenarians giving advice.
I was not a fan enough to watch Superbowl live (I live in Europe) so I woke up at 5 AM to watch it before going to work. Needless to say I was not snacking. I did have a jar of chia seeds soaked in coconut milk and some banana (for breakfast).
The regular season Sunday games come late in the evening, so I often snack on tortilla chips and guac, salsa or hummus. I also often delay my game watching to after work. I know very few fans in my neck of woods so the risk of spoilers is minimal (but I have to unsubscribe CnC feed for the season because all the spoilers here come without any warning whatsoever). I am glad to be back and just in time for marathon training, too!
I did watch the Super Bowl and won the family pool! The best things I ate were the chili (made by my boyfriend’s brother) and the chocolate peanut butter dip (made by ME!)
I love microwavable meatballs, by the way. Definitely a staple in my diet. Even though I was at a Super Bowl party, I didn’t really watch the game. But I ate a great cheeseburger, spinach dip and football cupcakes. I mean, the food is the best part! Glad you had a good weekend:)
Woohoo! Thanks so much for hosting the giveaway, Tina! I’ll be sending you an email straight away. Also, reading your blog sometimes has me craving donuts BIG TIME. Just sayin’. π Have a good week!
I didn’t know who was playing until yesterday, so I have no opinion on the outcome. Although I will say, whoever made the decision to throw that football that close to the goal line was a moron. I obviously loved the #likeagirl commercial, but the lost puppy one tugged at my heartstrings too!
Living in Boston, we are beyond excited about last night’s win, especially with all the recent negativity surrounding our team. We hosted last night, and the best thing we ate were jalapeno popper puffs, which I found off Pinterest and blogged about today.

Loved the game! The avocado commercial and the Fiat commercial were my faves!
I am so bummed the Seahawks lost. It feels a tiny bit like I got stood up at a date, which is a sentiment I’m seeing a lot of Facebook this morning. My husband even is a little sad today and he’s not even a football fan. Seattle is covered in a overcast clouds and misty rain, so the weather is fitting for our mood. On the upside, I made delicious loaded sweet potato skins, BBQ turkey meatballs, and fancier pigs in a blanket using pineapple bacon chicken sausage instead of hot dogs. I also made Paleo brownies for dessert from Practical Paleo. Subbed bacon for more chocolate chunks. Delicious!
I definitely watched the super bowl last night! I’m a huge Seahawks fan (even when they weren’t winning… ever), so it was a let down for me… But I think that the Patriots played better in the first half, and that meant everything!
Best commercial? Either the puppy / horse Budweiser or… the Pitch Perfect 2 ad with Clay Matthews / Green Bay Packers as an acapella team. HILARIOUS!
Quinn is seriously the cutest baby! You and Mal = great genes.
Favorite SB ads were #LikeAGirl and the one with Katie Couric/Bryant Gumbel which wasn’t exactly great but the real flashback video of them talking on the Today Show about email addresses and the internet (I think it means about…What is the internet?) was hilarious! Can’t remember what they were ‘selling’…a car perhaps?
Haha! Well, thank you! Γ°ΕΈΛβ
I was actually able to pay attention to the game because it was pretty exciting at the end. I also cried at an unreasonable number of commercials so idk what that was all about!
I loved the #likeagirl commercial!!!
I also loved the “PacMan” budlight commercial…that looked like too much fun!!
I actually got to attend the Superbowl since I live down here in Phoenix! It was AWESOME. And I’m SO happy the Pats one! Pats nation!!! But I did get a chance to watch some commercials today and I loved the Doritos plane one! It had me laughing!
Admittedly I turned on the TV with just over a minute left of the game. I think my timing was pretty impeccable given that I got to see all the juicy bits. Given that Boston is the city that has my heart, I was rooting for the Pats so it was awesome to see them win!
I watched the superbowl and was totally shocked at the end! My bf was rooting for seattle, so that was a bummer π the commercials were all so weird/depressing… I wasn’t a big fan of any of them!
I swear, Quinn looks more and more like Mal every. single. day!
Huge Pats fan. Amazing game!!
Anyone else horrified by the Nationwide commercial. Such poor taste to air that.
Leisure suits. These babies have it good, don’t they?
As a die-hard Packer fan, I was rooting for the Seahawks to lose. So, I’m grateful to the Patriots for making that happen;)
I made cauliflower crust cheesy breadsticks and bloody mary chili for Super Bowl. That was the highlight for me, for sure!
I watched the SB but wasn’t totally bummed when Tom Brady won…again. I loved the Budweiser commercial! The best thing I ate was a Salmon Salad! Yumm
YAY Pats!! What a great game.
What a great game! I am not a football fan but even I was on the edge of my seat the whole time.
