I love overnight oats. I have a new appreciation for them now-a-days. Of course, they are delicious, but I love the fact that you can just roll out of bed and breakfast is waiting for you. There’s nothing else for you to do except eat. When there are overnight oats waiting for me in the refrigerator, I have no problem getting out of bed in the morning! 😉

So, if you haven’t tried overnight oats yet, now is the time! You will not be disappointed! 😀

I also love iced coffee with breakfast. I especially love the Birthday Cake flavor! 😀

I also enjoyed an Oatmeal Blueberry Cookie with my iced coffee this morning! So good!

The Science of Good Food

Remember went I went to Florida for the back in April? Well, when I was there, I had the pleasure of chatting with one of the judges for the Bake-Off, a guy named David Joachim.

Right off the bat, David and I had a lot to talk about. He’s a foodie as well as a successful food writer, who has written 25+ cookbooks, so, of course, I had a zillion questions for him! After talking for a bit, he told me about a book of his that might interest me (and my blog readers), called The Science of Good Food: The Ultimate Reference on How Cooking Works.

The Science of Good Food gives you a straightforward explanation of the what, the how, and the why of food and cooking. It’s a reference book, organized from A to Z, which explains the physical and chemical transformations the occur in food preparation and cooking. There’s 1,800 entries that range from agriculture and food safety to animal husbandry and flavor science. It definitely runs the gamut of topics!

Each entry begins with an explanation of the science behind the food, equipment or cooking method. There are a ton of photos and illustrations as well as 100 recipes that demonstrate those principles– from how deep-frying works to how to keep red cabbage from turning blue.

Sounds pretty interesting, right? Well, here’s your chance to win a copy! 😀

To Enter: Leave a comment on this post about your favorite cookbook.

I’ll randomly pick a winner tomorrow morning. Good luck!
