Since breakfast, I’ve done a whole lot of nothing. Ok, well, that’s a total lie. I actually cleaned the entire house (including the floors), did 3 loads of laundry, and took Murphy for an hour-long walk. So, it was a productive day, but on my own time, ya know? š
Mid-morning, Murphy parked his little butt outside our bedroom door. He knew Mal was in there (still sleeping), so I think he started to get a little worried. Eventually, Murphy starting whining and scratching at the door, so we finally woke up “Dad” around 10:30. Mal didn’t seem to mind the pug wake-up call since he never sleeps that late and hates sleeping the day away.
Snack
While cleaning the house, I stopped and snacked on a SOYJOY bar. I don’t usually like these bars, but this flavor was pretty good.
Lunch
For lunch, I threw together a big salad with romaine, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, broccoli, pickles, and balsamic vinegar. (FYI: Chopping up a pickle is an excellent addition to a salad! š )
On the side, I enjoyed the most amazing vegan, raw, sprouted crackers.
One of the many reasons that I enjoy working with OpenSky is because they help me find great new products. The OpenSky suppliers send samples to us that they think would be a good fit for our stores with the hope that we’ll love and share them with our readers.
When these crackers arrived in the mail the other day, I wasn’t sure what to think. Vegan, raw, and sprouted? I’ll try anything once, so I broke into the Sunny Garden Herb flavor this afternoon. Verdict: OUTSTANDING! After just one cracker, I immediately added them to my OpenSky shop.
The Livin’ Spoonful Crackers are made with all raw and sprouted ingredients as well as flax and a mix spices– all sorts of good stuff in one compact cracker! They come in four delicious flavors: Sunny Garden Herb, Coconut Curry, Pesto Pumpkinseed, and Caraway Crisps.
I don’t have a favorite flavor quite yet, but if the others are at all like the Sunny Garden Herb, I will definitely be hooked on these babies! Don’t the Coconut Curry and Pesto Pumpkinseed sound especially appealing?
Love, love, love these crackers!
Salad + crackers + h20.
For dessert, I enjoyed a small stack of Mrs. Field’s peanut butter cookies. Mmm!
Tonight’s agenda: a fun dinner followed by PJs and a movie.
Best Saturday ever!

I’m sure you’re going to be loving and missing “doing nothing” over the next few busy weekends I know that’s the case for me!
Those crackers sound yummy! š Sometimes it feels awesome just being home.
Have a great and relaxing saturday night Tina.
Awh that’s adorable that Murphy wanted to wake Mal up! It must be love….
I think we have a version of those crackers over in England, by a company called Gourmet Raw – I’ve been dying to try some, but darn are they exspensive!!
Have a good evening š
I LOVE adding pickles to a salad! Especially the mini sweet baby gherkins, since they give just that little hint of sweetness to it!
PJs and a movie are on my agenda tonight too– I’m so looking forward to it š
I’m thinking I need to put PJs and a movie on my to-do list
Your meals look a lot like mine. Simple ‘n’ small dinner to make room for DESSERT (the main course, obvs)!!
Hahahaha – lovely way to spend the day, Tina!
Have a great night!
XOXO

Mmm, love pickles, never had it in a salad though! Good idea!
Those crackers look so yum! And the flavors sound delicious!!!!
I love pickles and I love salads, so I might have to give that a try sounds good. I saw those crackers on Kath’s blog also and really want to try them, especially the coconut curry.
I love saturdays..the gym is always empty and I can just lay around in pjs. Unfortunately I’m at work right now…kinda working..maybe not. Enjoy your night with the boys!
That’s my favorite flavor of Soy Joy also, and how cute that Murphey was worried about Mal!
those peanut butter crackers look extra chewy and yummy.
maybe murph wanted to curl up to daddy in that bed.
Our dogs stare and scratch at the door if one of goes to take a nap and don’t invite them š
Peanut butter cookies…yum…
And your night sounds perfect!
@Lindsay Perrone (goodiesgalore): What peanut butter crackers?
Pickles make EVERYTHING taste better. And I think this is one of those cases where I’m relieved as well as sad not to be able to order from your store… I don’t think I can afford an addiction to raw sprouted crackers!!
Are you sure you wernt saying “MURPH wheres daddy, wheres daddy”
What exactly is the Pug Wakeup Call? We have the Kitty Wakeup call. Incessant crying and meowing if we sleep past 7am.
I almost always forget about adding pickles to my salad! Love it, though. I used to add relish all the time…just forgot all about it.
Yay for a zero obligations day! You deserve it!
Awww Murphy is just too cute sitting in front your bedroom door! My Muffin does that all the time even when one of us is in the bathroom! I think they do get worried if they don’t see their “parents” š Your salad looks delicious, I never thought of adding pickles to my salad. My unusual/rare ingredients are usually almonds, strawberries, green or red onions, grapes…I don’t see too many people adding these to their salads š
Must have just been one of those days for everyone. The husband and I pretty much slept it away.
A pickle in a salad? Brilliant. Here in Detroit, it was a good, cold, flurry-filled day to sleep.
Love the “daddy wake-up call!” š Our kitties do the same thing. They really are just like kids!!
