I’m having one of those mornings. Getting out of bed was a serious struggle, I spilled iced coffee all over the kitchen counter, and, just now, I realized that I missed a project deadline. Rough start to the day, huh? I guess I need a little pick-me-up. I bet a cupcake would make me feel better! 😉
Breakfast
Minus the coffee incident, breakfast was pretty darn good. I love meals with a wide variety of tastes, textures, and flavors like this morning’s.
I had a toasted Butterscotch Muffin with melted butter.
(I wrote down the recipe for these muffins on a Post-It, but it went MIA. But, I will make them again soon!)
Half of a pink grapefruit.
And iced coffee with soy milk.
OpenSky Stuff
Just a quick reminder to follow Carrots ”˜N’ Cake!!!
OpenSky will donate $1 to Team In Training for everyone who follows CNC from now until our marathon day on January 16th. And if I reach 10,000 followers, one person (and a guest) will be flown to Phoenix to watch Mal and me run the marathon! How cool would that be!?! More details here.
Please spread the word! Mal and I would love to have a CNC reader and guest come cheer us on! Plus, donating $1 for every follower is HUGE!
And there’s more!
Remember my post about my favorite running gear? Well, OpenSky will giveaway one running-related product each week from now until my blog anniversary on February 3rd. (We need to celebrate somehow! )
Next week, OpenSky will giveaway a Garmin Forerunner 305, so make sure you follow me! If you already follow me, you’re already entered into the giveaway.
Feel Great Weight
I have marathon on the brain! It’s all I can think about, so here’s this week’s FGW post: My First Marathon: 12 Tips to Run Farther.
Question of the Day
I need a serious pick-me-up, so tell me”¦
What do you like best about yourself?

I love my legs, my tummy (despite its refusal to form a sixpack), my muscular arms, my great genetically-given cheekbones, and my long hair. I also love my long lashes that always make people think I’m wearing false ones!
I also love my ability to make bad situations okay, and I’ve been told I give great hugs.
I realize I wrote a volume, but I’m coming from years of Fat talk and now I’m experimenting with ‘Phat’ talk! 😉
I love my attitude of perseverance, my strong legs that carry around 265.4lbs of weight (currently), and my butt. Seriously, i’ve got a good bootay hahaha!
Hoping to score that Garmin! I’m going to be a RUNNER, darn it!
It’s a physical thing, but I LOVE my eyes. 🙂
And I do love my sense of humor. I just love to laugh!
I love my legs….
…and I’m an organizational “freak”…It’s the Type “A” personality.
I love my legs. They are toned from miles and miles of running and they are going to carry me across the finish line on Saturday for my half-marathon! 😀
I love that my body is capable of so much–seeing, smelling, tasting, feeling. It’s really amazing that our bodies are built as they are!
Very OperationBeautiful-like of you to hear nice things about others in order to give yourself a pickmeup! Love it!
I love that I’m thoughtful. I really listen to other people and like to surprise them with random gifts that they need or want.
I love that I am always the first person to laugh at myself when I do something ditzy or klutzy! I don’t take myself too seriously, and feel like a good sense of humor is important.
I love the color of my eyes and my booty that carries me up hills!
Sorry you’re having a rough morning! I hope your day gets better!
Oh my ! Sorry about your rough start Tina, hope your day gets better!
I love that I have a huge heart, and that I appreciate all that life has to offer!
I love my body and I love that I can organize anything.
Things will turn around! At least you have butterscotch flavoring. 🙂
Hope the rest of your day is better!
That butterscotch muffin looks yummy!
I love that I don’t have a shy bone in my body and that I care and feel so deeply about the people in my life.
Sorry about your rough morning!
I like my determination, positivity, and goofy nature best!
I like my kind heart, even if others do not always appreciate it. (Sorry, in need of a pick-me-up myself I think!)
Those butterscotch muffins sound great!
I love my broad shoulders. When I was a kid, I used to hate that my shoulders were wider than everyone else but now I love wearing evening or formal wear and knowing that my shoulders will make the outfit look even more awesome.
I love my swimmer’s shoulders. Sometimes it can be hard to find clothes that look right but my shoulders are big and strong and I EARNED them with hard work in the pool!
I hope your day gets better Tina!! 🙂 What I like best is my desire to always grow and be the best loving person I can be.
So excited- I would love a Garmin! It would be a great addition to my Husband and I’s new healthy take on life… wanted one forever!
This is random, but I love my smile. It just completes my face and smiling at myself actually makes me happy – which sounds really narcissistic, but hopefully you know what I mean. 😉
Sorry about the not so pleasant start to your day. Sometimes you just have to laugh at the little things and remember that the only thing you can control in life is your emotions towards a situation and/or individual.
My dimples. I am the only one in my family who has them.
Hope your day turns around and I can’t wait to see the recipe for those muffins!! 😀
I like that I think that I am the most hilarious person that I know. Too bad my husband thinks my humor is weird!
I really like how disciplined I can be and the way in which I could focus in on my goals (when I REALLY want them) and make them a reality.
Please do make the muffins again! Though I’ll have to use something like almond extract and completely change the flavour…
Butterscotch muffins, love that idea! Looks delish, Tina.
I’m thoughtful in that I like to make my friends feel special by making them sweet treats and surprising them with a delivery on their door 🙂
I like how when I set my mind to do something I will do it….no matter what…
Drooling over the Garmin, especially since I’m training for a real marathon right now. Wow, that’d be the coolest thing ever.
