GAH! Look what happened overnight!
Ok, fresh snow is kind of pretty, but I could have honestly gone all winter without it. Now, I’m patiently waiting for it to melt. Come on high of 47 degrees! Work your magic! (Man, I am such a snow hater!)
Breakfast
I love āOatmealāĀ Minus the Oats! It’s my new favorite breakfast. I also added fresh blackberries and two scoops of peanut butter to the mix. So satisfying, so delicious!
Feel Great Weight
CrossFit is the hot new workout right now, and like many other health and fitness enthusiasts, I wanted to see what it was all about. So, about a month ago I took my first CrossFit classāāI loved it almost immediately. Here’s why it’s my āfeel greatāĀ workout: A Feel Great Workout: CrossFit. (Running, of course,Ā is a close second for me!)
What’s your āfeel greatāĀ workout? You know, the one you can always count on to improveĀ your mood and boost your spirits?
P.S. South Shore folks: I just heard PinkBerry at the South Shore Plaza is giving away FREE yogurt tonight from 6 – 9 PM!

i feel the same way about snow! it is pretty, but i could definitely go without it. needless to say, i’m not complaining about this warmer than usual winter we’re having! š
my feel great workout is definitely HIIT styles… on the treadmill, circuit training, etc. i love high intensity! it always gets me sweating instantly and makes me feel great afterward.
Free Pinkberry?! Oh my! Great timing with the snow. š
I just started doing hte insanity dvd’s and man are they are super great – and really fast workout!! keeping the sweating going as the snow continues to fall – that’s my motto.
For a real good workout mentally, I always opt for yoga at my favorite studio in NYC, Yoga to the People.
It sure is pretty but I agree with you, I could go without it. Hurry up, summer!
I only think Snow is Pretty in postcards. If I never saw snow again I would be ok. Good thing I am in San Diego:)
@Bobbie McKinney: Haha! Exactly!
I think snow is SO pretty!!!
My great workout is teaching Zumba or teaching BodyPUMP. I am in my element when I do those–and I LOVE it. I could go in with a bad attitude and come out a new person–really š
yikes! its in the 70’s here! crazy! stay warm.
I’m so jealous! I want real winter weather! This “winter” so far its been almost 80 every day! Too bad there’s no free Pinkberry for me!
I think I need to visit Boston tonight…just for the free yogurt!
I’m actually missing the snow in Western PA…I want to hit the slopes! Send some this way!
I was shocked to see the snow on the ground today!
Winter needs to be over.
Cliche I know but running always puts me in the best mood!
BodyCombat and TRX are my current favorites!!! LOVE hanging from the chain. in a not kinky way.
Ugh, I’m a snow hater too! We’re supposed to get a lot on Wednesday night and I’m already dreading it!
We had snow overnight and there is a nor’easter heading this way!!
Running always puts me in the best mood and I also generally feel great after yoga. I sometimes have to force myself to do yoga whereas running is no problem but I love the feeling after both. Very different, but great!
Snow is so pretty!! Wish we had some here.
Running lately for me has been my feel great workout, other than the baby pressing down on my bladder the whole time I love how I feel afterwards.
For me it’s a combination of biking and running. Probably biking because I know I’ve literally burned up to 2,000 calories in one stint!
The first snow is always beautiful and romantic [minus the awful traffic it creates- FYI, avoid the DC area whenever it snows!] but the next day I am ready for it all to be melted… It snowed yesterday down here but only stuck to the grass- I’m still waiting for my first snow day as a teacher!
Same for me right now. CrossFit CrossFit CrossFit.
Yoga also makes me feel better 99.9% of the time.
Even though I love running, it doesn’t make me feel good that often. I’m always trying to push and get faster and train train train.
That’s a really, really good question. I honestly LOVE spin! I always go into it loving it and I always leave loving it. I struggle to get out for a run in the winter, but I’m ALWAYS so glad I ran when I’m done with my workout.
I woke up this morning and went “what?! snow?!” I think it’s pretty but I too could have gone all winter without it. For awhile, I thought we would! My favorite workout right now is my ballet barre cardio class – love. And rock climbing on my off days. Oh and thanks for the Pinkberry tip, will hit them up after work š
Today in WI we’re looking towards a high of 50. Friday’s expected high: 19!
My feel great workout has to be power yoga. Leaves me lengthened, strengthened, and relaxed!
OH MY GOD FREE FROZEN YOGURT?
my week jus got so much better
It was very pretty. I ran 5 miles before 6am this morning and it looked nice with a little snow falling.
Totally agree, hate snow! I know we’ve been lucky in Boston so far, but I was annoyed even by the light snow and ice today. š
Your pictures of the snow are beautiful, even though I know it is cold. Stay warm š
We still haven’t had any snow since that ridiculous snowstorm in October and we just literally last night placed bets on if we would get any at all this winter. I’m soooo hoping for no!

The perfect amount of snow. If there’s any more than that, then I hate it! My favorite workout to boost my mood is zumba! Whether it be in a class or just in my living room.
lol there’s a mall called “south coast plaza” near to me and I thought that’s what you meant when you said “south shore”! I got excited for a minute. š
wowww the snow looks gorgeous~I know it’s probably because I don’t live in it, but it’s so pretty and serene to look at.
Hot Yoga is definitely my feel-great workout; I don’t ever walk out without feeling pretty good!
So jealous you have snow.. send a little this way please š
I love snow! Only because I live in the South and hardly ever see it. š Ok…I think I am going to have to make the oatless oat tomorrow morning. I have been stuck on an English muffin, egg, spinach, turkey bacon combo. Have a great day!
i love yoga, especially “yin yoga” which is basically just stretching and meditation. i haven’t done it forever, though.
The snow is so pretty! No snow down here…temps in the 50s & 60s…not complaining though… š
My feel great workout is a tempo run! Or vinyasa power yoga!
Glad it snowed in MA and not in NH!
My feel great workout is hot yoga. I leave the room feeling like I’m at least a foot taller!
My feel good workout is most definitely yoga. I’m sooo interested in trying Crossfit but I’m scurred!! š
@Marisa E: It’s not scary! I promise! I thought the same thing until I took a class!
@Tina: I think I’m more scared that I’m gonna love it and the $$$!! Ha!! Thanks!
I adore dancing, but I haven’t taken a dance class in nearly a decade. It’s actually on my to-do list for this year: I love it so much, and it doesn’t even feel like exercise when I’m doing it!
I always feel great after Body Pump & spin!
A new to be feel good workout is spin. So fun!
Ok now I am officially very curious about that breakfast dish- oatless oats. I am going to have to try it, like, tomorrow.
Free Pinkberry sounds wonderful!
Ooo, I love the color of the berries against the pink bowl. Yum!
Boo, no snow here in Somerville! I’m liking it though; I can actually train for my half marathon!
I always feel good after a run. I haven’t tried Crossfit yet, although the studio in the Fenway is offering a free introductory class. Hmm.. š
@Alaina: Do it!!!!!!
In Idaho, we got snow too this morning! My favorite workout is a 3 mile hills run on the treadmill and then doing weights afterwards with a good abs workout.
To fill like I got a good workout, I like a good sweat and to feel the “pain.” Or I guess to push myself farther then I went the day before. š
Snow is absolutely beautiful when I don’t have to be anywhere. Otherwise, it can go away.
I’ve been drooling over your oatmeal minus the oats photos the past few days but have yet to give it a try! Tomorrow…
And my feel great workout is running with a friend!
I miss the snow!!
Hey Tina! Will you ever go back to your old style of posting, or is it going to be crossfit/egg-white “oats” from here on out? I miss your old style of writing. I don’t mean that in an offensive way, but I haven’t been able to get through a post of yours in weeks. š
Sorry that you no longer enjoy my blog, but CNC has always been about sharing my life through my food and adventures, so I don’t have plans to stop blogging about CrossFit or egg whites anytime soon. Sorry!
@Tina: I actually came here to ask the same question. I just feel like every post lately has been all crossfit all the time (or pictures of Muprhy…he’s cute, but still…) so I’m sorry to hear that you aren’t going to balance things out any time soon. I will pull you from my reader and maybe check back in a while.
I used to *love* my Zumba classes at my old gym. The instructor never did the traditional Zumba songs but more fun ones (popular songs you hear on the radio). She also had a more hip-hop inspired style which I found more natural and fun. Sadly though, I can’t make it to the classes anymore!
