A Big Day for Murphy

Good morning! Happy Friday!

It’s an exciting day for Mr. Murphy! He’s scheduled for a pug photo shoot later this afternoon, so, of course, he’s super-duper excited, especially since it includes a ride in the car to the (Fenway) park, but he has no idea what to wear for it. It’s his first professional photo shoot.

Murphy is generally a fan of the “naked” look, but the photographer asked us to bring a few collar/harness options.

Decisions, decisions”¦

Mom, I have no idea what to wear!

What do YOU think?

The green one? Really?

I dunno, Mom. I don’t trust your fashion sense. Let’s ask your readers which one they think I should wear.

Green with paws and bones?

Plaid?

Red with white bones?

What do you guys think?

Breakfast

I woke up before Mal yesterday morning to cook him breakfast. (The mornings are so dark now! Wah.) The first few weeks of school + CrossFit have been a tad crazy for him, so I wanted to make his morning a little easier. On the menu: OMG Pancakes, and Mal was psyched to have them. Pancakes on a school day? Woohoo!

I topped my pancakes with almond butter and drank a glass of Dandy Blend with canned coconut milk mixed in.

Question of the Day

Have you ever had your pet professionally photographed? If not, would you ever?

P.S. You still have time to enter my giveaway to win a pair of Merrell shoes from the Vendemmia collection. I’ll pick a winner this afternoon!

  1. I am kind of out numbered, while I like the plaid I like the color pop in the red. He will look great no matter what he wears though. What a cool project and cant wait to see the finished product!

  2. I was inspired by your fall oatless oatmeal to try to experiment with the two-ingredient pancake. Instead of banana, I used 1/2 cup canned pumpkin and a little bit of stevia with the eggs. It didn’t really hold together, so next time I think I would use 1/4 cup pumpkin with a half or 3/4 of a banana. Worth another shot tomorrow I guess!

  3. I’m a professional photographer, and I LOVE pet photo shoots! I’ve done all different kinds- from purebred show kittens to big labs to brook trout with the DNR- I even have a snake shoot coming up next month. 🙂
As part of giving back to my community, I take photos for the Humane Society to help them get their animals adopted more quickly. That’s an amazing job- but it’s a miracle I don’t come home with new dogs every time (we have two already)! 🙂
I love the plaid… But if you have an idea of where the photographer will be taking Murphy for the photos, maybe one of the colors will match the space better than others. I say, bring them all! Have a great time.

  4. I can’t decide between the red & green one.

Murphy is photogenic, but all the pics I have of my dog she’s looking away because the camera (even my phone) freaks her out, so yes, I’ve been debating getting a professional photographer for a few.

  5. This post made my morning! Too funny. Red with bones would be my first pick. I’d go with the plaid if you want a more sophisticated, preppy look though! Have fun!!

  6. Ohhhh my gosh Murphy has the BEST sad eyes! (I’m a sucker for puppy eyes…my mini dachshund has HUGE eyes!) These pictures are great! Go with the plaid collar! It’s so cute!

  7. Love the red and white…cuz red stands out even in black/white photos…I’ve never had my pets professionally photographed, but my Instagram is full of pet pics!!

  8. Oh my goodness, Murphy is a heartbreaker!!! I think the green brings out his eyes haha 😛 We have never had Charlie get professionally photographed but I wouldn’t put it past us sometime in the future!
