7 Products I’ve Used & Loved for Years

Hey there!

Hi, guys! Happy Friday!

The other day, I was out with one of my girlfriends and she gave me a compliment on my hair. She said it looked healthy and shiny and then she ask me what my secret was. I immediately replied, “magic hairspray!” I explained it actually wasn’t hairspray at all, but a “silkening mist” that I’ve used for years. My friend Marie actually introduced me to it back in 2011, and I’ve used and loved it ever since. It’s the best!

My “magic hairspray” actually got me thinking about some of the products that I buy again and again because I just love them so much. I’m always on the lookout for the best new products, but these ones are tried-and-true favorites that just can’t be topped. I highly recommend each of these products and, if you decide to try them, know you’ll love them, too!

Kenra Platinum Silkening Mist (aka “magic hairspray”) – This stuff is the best ever, especially when you’re having a bad hair day. It instantly adds shine, smooths frizz, and smells so great. It’s basically like giving your hair a boost when it needs it most. My go-to hairstyle lately is towel-drying my hair, spritzing it with sea salt spray and magic hairspray, and then letting it air dry. This gives me soft, smooth waves with very minimal effort!

Brooks Glycerin – My favorite running shoe ever – and I wore them even before I started working with Brooks. They provide just the right amount of flexibility and “bounce,” but they’re also stable and supportive in all the right places. FYI: Zappos.com has free shipping on them both ways!

Teddie Peanut Butter – I’ve tried a lot of peanut butter brands over the years and nothing beats Teddie. It truly has the best flavor and texture ever. It’s rich and thick, and it’s only ingredients are peanuts and salt.

SFH protein powder – I love SFH because it tastes great (Churro and Vanilla are my favorite flavors) and doesn’t have any of that funny stuff in it. It’s whey protein, but it doesn’t mess with my stomach like some other whey protein powders.

Juno Sports Bra – I know I’ve mentioned this sports bra on CNC a zillion times in the past, but it’s truly one of my long-time favorites and has served me well for years now. I typically wear my beloved Juno for long-distance running (and Orangetheory and CrossFit) because it has plenty of support, shape (no uni-boob), full coverage (no crazy cleavage), and adjustable straps that completely un-Velcro when you need it. I also love that it’s a racerback to go with all of my tank tops. Best sports bra ever!

Nikki’s Coconut Butter – My favorite is the vanilla cake batter, but I love a lot of Nikki’s flavors! I often eat it straight from the jar with a spoon, and it’s the perfect bite of deliciousness when you need something sweet. I also like spreading it on rice cakes and mashing it with banana or berries. So good!

Maybelline Full & Soft Mascara – I’ve tried a lot of expensive mascaras over the years, but I still love Full & Soft from Maybelline the best. It lifts and separates lashes, and it’s priced right! 🙂

Question of the Day

What product(s) do you love and used for years now?

  1. I love how you put peanut butter on here! I’m VERY loyal to Skippy Natural, but I’ve never tried that kind, so I might just have to. I am VERY loyal to Bare Minerals powder. Been wearing it for 7 years! Oh and Five gum!

  2. I must have batiste dry shampoo, Trader Joe’s tea tree oil, La Croix water (I don’t eve want to know what I’ve spent on it in the last 10 years!) and Kroger Restaurant Style Salsa.

  3. I’ve been a Brooks gal for a long time! I used to wear their Pure line of shoes, but switched to the Glycerin last year. Love those shoes! I think I’m also officially an Old Navy convert when it comes to active wear. Their leggings are SUPER affordable and I feel just as good quality as Lululemon or some of the other expensive brands.

  4. I’m sad to say I have never had good luck with Brooks shoes 🙁 Right now I’m running in New Balances and love them!
I’m loving paradontax toothpaste right now! It seriously works – my gums are wayyy less sensitive!
    Have a great weekend!

  5. i am a tried and true asics fan. i only wear a specific model of their running sneaker. its outdated and i buy in on the internet. speaking of… im running low.

  6. Teddie peanut butter is my favorite! And they sell it in the large jars at Costco. 😛

When it comes to running shoes, I am a die hard asics fan. I’ve tried different brands (NB, Nike, even Brooks) and nothing fits better or works better than asics for me.

    1. +1 for Teddie PB! I moved from Boston to SF and continue to order the large jars off Amazon. I’m THAT committed to Teddie Super Chunky love <3

  7. I really appreciate this post… It’s amazing how when you get older and are working all the time, you don’t go to your girlfriend’s houses anymore and try on all their makeup/hair products lol to see what works for you. I used to be all about beauty products and knew what was good, but now I have no idea what products to use for my hair! I just ordered the “magic hairspray” and am looking forward to using it soon! Thanks 🙂

  8. Tried and true favorites are simply the best. I’ve had my eye on Teddie for awhile, but have been on a crunchy almond butter kick that I can’t shake! TJ’s for me!

I’m not sure if I’m super loyal to any one thing? But I am particular about my morning iced coffee that I make at home. Costa Rica Tarrazu + Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate + Califia Farms almond milk + Stevia. HAS to be Stevia brand. I have no idea why.

I’m also particular about ice cream, I guess. Talenti or Ben & Jerry’s. DAS IT.

  9. i don’t think i’ve tried teddie’s peanut butter before, but do you actually like it more than trader joe’s pb? because trader joe’s is def my fave by far — i looove the drippiness!

  10. I’m not sure if you’re still having any issues with your eyes, but once I stopped using maybelline mascara, mine went away!

  11. I’ve never tried SFH protein powder before. I’ll definitely have to give it a shot because most protein powders are not very forgiving on the stomach, which I’m sure you can attest to. The churro flavor sounds pretty yummy too!

  12. I use the Target brand exfoliating face wipes. They’re the best for early mornings and take no time to remove makeup at night. I even keep a package in my gym bag! I used to get bad “bacne” but now I wipe down my back at the gym (even if I’m going right home to shower) and feel good about wearing open back tops. I tried so many expensive skin care products over the years but these work best.
