Hi, friends! Happy Friday!

I can’t believe the weekend is already upon us. Hooray! Fridays are the best, aren’t they? That said, here are 5 fun and fabulous things to kick off your weekend on the right foot!

Chat with Dave McGillivray, the race director of the Boston Marathon

TODAY (April 4th) at 12:00 PM EST, Dave McGillivray is hosting a live interactive video chat for runners and running enthusiasts in order to raise money for the Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation, which honors 7-year-old Martin Richard, who was killed in last year’s Boston Marathon bombings. Dave will share tips about making the most of your participation in an organized running event””an area he knows well due to his involvement in the Boston Marathon””as well as his own experience from some of his most impressive feats and provide insight on what’s allowed him to be so effective at running so many miles over the years.

A donation of any amount gives you access to the video chat as well as the chance to ask questions prior to the chat or live during it, but you can use the code ”˜CANDC‘ to get FREE access to the chat. Wizeo, the platform who is running the chat, will donate $10 on behalf of any user who activates the CANDC code. But, of course, you’re more than welcome to donate to the Martin W. Richard Foundation as well. Any contribution is greatly appreciated.

Do a little spring shopping online

I definitely spent way too much time online yesterday browsing the new spring clothing arrivals and home accessories at Anthropologie. I seriously love just about everything that I saw! I am totally obsessed with this Channeled Dot Dress, and I think it’ll fit right after Baby Haupert is born? I might just need to buy it. I also love these two flow-y tanks for after he arrives.

Each day is devoted to a different task, so by the end of the month, your home will be in tip-top shape! It’s only April 4th, so you can definitely catch up over the weekend. Hop on it for a clean and organized home! I’m doing it too!

Read this weight loss post from Monica at Run Eat Repeat

I love what she says about focusing on what you’re doing RIGHT with regard to weight loss instead of what you are doing wrong. The message actually translates to many aspects of life, and it’s so amazing what a positive attitude can do for helping you achieve your goals. Be positive, patient, and persistent!

Make one of these delicious recipes

Hey, it’s Friday after all. I think we all need a little treat in our lives! (Just click on the photo below for the recipe!)

Question of the Day

What fabulous thing do you have planned for today?

P.S. Be sure to enter to win a copy of Practical Paleo!

  1. Just an observation – the things you linked to really aren’t nursing friendly but that may or may not be an issue. Things fit differently after you have a baby for a while too… and it’s different for everyone. It can be hard emotionally after you have a baby because you want to bounce right back but you don’t and you obviously know that… everyone KNOWS that, but dealing with it is a little different!

    1. @Tricia: I agree! I was going to say the same thing-the tanks may be okay w nursing tanks under them, but I’m BFing a 4 month old & between the boobs & baby spit up, I haven’t worn anything ‘nice’ since she was born! And, while BFing, if you plan to do it, does help you bounce back, I wasn’t able to wear my pre-baby sized jeans until 3 months out, & they sure don’t fit the same. All worth it, of course! I just wouldn’t invest in expensive post-baby clothes!

      1. @Lisa: agreed Lisa! I wasn’t able to bf long but I lived in nursing tanks when I did. I have a 4.5 month old and I still wouldn’t wear anything nice around him unless it was a special occasion like his christening. His clothes and mine/my husband’s are always covered in something. It’s very glamorous! Lol

  2. Anthropology has my heart…and wallet. Ugh. I love that store!
Today I got in an awesome workout and am looking forward to a walk with the pup, working on my blog and my family coming tonight!

  3. Your granola recipe is on the list to make this weekend! I can’t wait! 🙂

The fabulous thing we have planned for today is hanging out with our friends tonight! We’re going to a cultural fair! It should be fun!

  4. I love the items you are thinking about getting from Anthro. Super cute! I am getting a massage today (Yay!! I haven’t had one in two years!), and then I’m taking a midterm (not so cool, but then it’s the weekend!!). Happy Friday!

  5. Excited for the Spring Cleaning Challenge. I’ve been in ‘I should start that’ phase this past week, so this should help me get going! The most-fabulous thing I have planned for today is afternoon coffee with one of my best friends. She’s a new mom, so our coffee dates are few and far between these days, so I’m so looking forward to it!

  6. My fabulous Friday activity will be teaching an evening BODYPUMP class, which is always full. Who knew people like to work out on a Friday not? Not me until I started teaching this class in downtown San Francisco a few months ago. It’s a great way to kick off the weekend! Happy Friday to you.

  7. I love the Spring cleaning list. There are things on there they I always forget/might never have cleaned before. And who doesn’t love a little online shopping. Good luck with your list especially the baking…yum 🙂

  8. I just wanted to let you know that I’ve made your Gluten Free Almond Joy cookies a few times now. They’re SO GOOD and probably the easiest batch of cookies I’ve ever made. LOVE them! My husband requested the last batch that I made and I had to double it so that we wouldn’t fight over them ha ha

  9. I made the sweet potato pancakes this morning! Didn’t even know it was going to be a suggestion today. 🙂

  10. Thanks for posting the cleaning challenge. As soon as it starts to look spring-y outside it’s hard not to think of spring cleaning. I’m going to start tomorrow! 🙂

  11. I totally printed the spring cleaning challenge. I need to do this once a month!! I also love the RER shout out. I totally follow her blog and the positivity around the what you are doing right in weight loss post is amazing!

  12. I’m on board with spring shopping! I have all my catalogs next to the recliner to see what the new trends are 🙂 I’m not sure if it’s truly fabulous but I’m finishing up a rough draft of my final speech of the spring semester! It’ll be fabulous to have that checked off my to-do list I guess!

  13. Spring shopping is so much fun! I’m definitely due for some new things too. I really like the flowy dress. Antropologie has very cool things, but they are pricey. I love the spring cleaning challenge. I will be spending my weekend in the hospital as my Mom recovers from her open heart surgery. I know it’s not exciting, but that is what life has presented us and I wouldn’t be anywhere else except with her.

  14. I’m looking forward to dinner with a friend I haven’t seen in way too long (nearly three months). Sometimes you just need some girl time, you know? Really looking forward to a mixed drink (I rarely drink anymore, mostly because I’d rather have dessert as a treat) and a great gluten free menu!
I also really need to try one of those almond recipes. They looks so good!

  15. There’s nothing like a good spring clean to make you feel good! I was reading the Happiness project the other day and it inspired me to de-clutter EVERYWHERE!! Very therapeutic! 🙂

  16. I need to download that spring cleaning list! What a great way to break it down and get it done! With two big puppies wrestling around my house it is an impossible task to keep it clean, but getting some of the big things done would be great.

I believe that people fail tor each their goals because they put so much thought into what they did wrong, how they messed up, or HOW MUCH MORE THEY HAVE TO DO! It gets discouraging and overwhelming really fast when you think about it like that. It truly is best to look at all of the things you have already done and be proud of the small improvements you are making!

  17. The nice thing about Anthropologie is that, if you don’t end up wearing the dress all summer, they will allow you to return it at any point. Just keep your receipt or use your anthro card to store your receipts. (I used to work there.)

  18. Thanks for the Spring Cleaning checklist! I really have no excuses now;)

Fabulous plans for today: double-header at the gym (BodyCombat followed by BodyPump), triple soy latte stop, visit to the dog park, and dinner at a Middle Eastern restaurant and hookah bar–should be interesting!

  19. I was a fool and signed up for Anthropologie’s daily newsletter. Every morning starts out with WANT ALL THE THINGS.

I made up my own daily spring cleaning chart for April. So far, I am six days behind schedule!
