Hello, hello!

This week is totally flying by for me. How the heck is it already Thursday?! And just 14 days until Christmas?! Holy cow. The holiday season is whizzing by like lightning. Well, can lightning whiz by? I guess so? It kind of crashes down, I suppose. I dunno, but the holiday season is passing quickly! Anyway, I wanted to share a quick recap of our 24 Days of Togetherness this year. We are having a lot of fun so far!

Day 1: Buy a Christmas tree and decorate it

Day 2: Write each other a love note

We actually texted each other our love notes, which I know is super duper romantic. Haha! Actually, we thought it would be nice to be able to read them whenever we wanted (since we almost always have our phones on us) instead of having them on a piece of paper tucked away in some drawer or box where we would only see them every once in a while.

Day 3: Buy Quinn a Christmas ornament

We bought Quinn the white, fuzzy bear ornament””second from the left in the top row.

Clearly, he was really excited about it!

Day 4: Make a Christmas drawing

Like last year, Mal and I played the drawing game (at 5:45 in the morning before Mal left for school). His drawing is on the right; mine is on the left. (I told Mal my drawing was a Dr. Seuss-inspired Christmas tree. Haha!)

Day 5: Watch a Christmas movie

Ok, we technically watched a Christmas movie, but only because it was already on TV. It was Friday night, so by the time we caught up with our DVR shows from the week, we were just too tired to sit through one of our favorite movies, so we watched about 30 minutes of “A Christmas Carol” and then went to bed.

Day 6: Celebrate the holiday season with friends

Day 7: Drink eggnog

We drank eggnog with Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s, which, in my opinion, taste better than the ones from Whole Foods””mainly because they have more creme filling.

Day 8: Buy a tree topper

We’ve been meaning to buy a tree topper for years now, but we never found one that we liked when we were out shopping, so we took to the Internet to purchase one. Success!

Day 9: Take a family photo

We took two family photos!

Day 10: Listen to Christmas music

Question of the Day

A little holiday survey:

  • Have you set up and decorated your Christmas tree yet?
  • What’s your favorite holiday movie?
  • Would you rather drink eggnog or hot chocolate?
  • What tops your Christmas tree?
  • What’s your favorite holiday album?

My answers: Yes, Elf, depends on my mood, light-up star, Home Alone soundtrack
