Hi, friends!

Here is another edition of A New Day In The Life, a little snapshot into our days. I really enjoy writing these posts, and I love looking back to see what life was like with Quinn even just a couple of months ago. It’s crazy how quickly things change with a baby. Ok, here we ago!

1:30 AM – I hear Quinn on the baby monitor and he’s ready to eat! I feed him.

2:00 AM – I put Quinn back to bed. He falls right to sleep. I eat apple crisp and work on a blog post. (I know, I know”¦ I should have gone back to bed, but I was hungry and wired.)

3:00 AM – I climb into bed and toss and turn. My mind won’t shut off, and I can’t fall asleep because I’m stressed about falling asleep. Blah.

4:00 AM – I sort of fall asleep.

4:30 AM – I hear Quinn fussing in his crib. I turn on the monitor and see that he’s still asleep, but his legs are flailing around. I assume he’s gassy and uncomfortable, so I pick him up and burp him. It works like a charm and he barely wakes up, so I put him back to sleep. I eat a white chocolate Justin’s Peanut Butter Cup, brush my teeth and then go back to sleep”¦ sort of.

5:15 AM – Mal’s alarm goes off. I hand him the baby monitor and he takes it into the kitchen while he makes breakfast for himself. I go back to bed.

6:30 AM – I hear Quinn on the baby monitor, which is back on my bedside table since Mal took Murphy for a walk and returned it there. I get up and wish Quinn a “good morning.” He immediately stops crying and gives me a hugggge smile! We hang out on the couch in the living room and then he starts to get fussy again, so I feed him.

6:45 AM – Murph and Mal return from their walk and then Mal leaves for school.

7:00 AM – I make breakfast (egg sandwich with extra bacon and butter + iced coffee with SO Delicious French Vanilla coconut milk creamer).

7:15 AM – I eat breakfast and hang out with Quinn and (creepy) Murphy.

7:30 AM – Quinn plays butterflies while I watch the news and fold laundry. (I feel like I am always doing laundry and there are only 3 of us!) I eat a Justin’s Peanut Butter Cup. It’s delicious with iced coffee!

8:00 AM – I change Quinn’s diaper and outfit. Can we talk about this onesie? It might just be my favorite one that he owns. Ashley gave it to me before Quinn was born, and I can’t believe it fits. Where does the time go?

8:15 AM – I get Quinn ready to go and we drive to Southfield to meet Kerrie for a run.

8:30 AM – Kerrie and I run 3 miles and take turns pushing Quinn in the jogging stroller. He snoozes the entire time.

9:00 AM – I stop by 1st Stop for an iced coffee. I order one that is half decaf vanilla hazelnut + Hawaiian Chocolate Nut. I need a little caffeine boost.

9:10 AM – We arrive home. Quinn is sound asleep in his car seat, so I bring him into the bathroom and take a quick shower and then get dressed.

9:30 AM – Quinn wakes up and we play “magic baby,” which is basically peek-a-boo but with singing. He laughs his head off. It’s the best.

9:45 AM – Quinn starts to get a little fussy and it’s time to eat again.

10:05 AM – Quinn finishes eating and we cuddle on the couch. I watch TV and drink my iced coffee.

10:15 AM – I burp Quinn and then make second breakfast, which is leftover home fries with a fried egg and melted cheese on top. I eat it while Quinn parties in his lounger. He recently learned how to screech, so he kicks (hello, Lord of the Dance!), screeches with happiness and has a blast. This kid does not stop moving. Ever.

11:00 AM – I get Quinn ready to run some errands, which includes printing some photos at CVS for his baby book. I’m trying to stay on top of it as much as possible! (FYI: I really like this baby book. It doesn’t go into great detail month-by-month, but it leaves you plenty of space for photos, which I love. A picture says a thousand words!)

12:00 PM – We return home. I make lunch, which is zucchini noodles (using my Veggetti Sprial Vegetable Slicer – best thing ever) with salmon and spicy mustard drizzled on top. Then, I eat the other peanut butter cup from the morning.

12:30 PM: Right on schedule, Quinn wants to eat.

1:00 PM: Quinn finishes eating and immediately gets gassy. I burp him. He gets the hiccups. We walk around the house and then go outside. We see the praying mantis, who apparently lives in our backyard. We look at him/her, but don’t touch. We practice petting Murphy.

1:25 PM: I put Quinn in his “spaceship” and he falls right to sleep. I work on this post and reply to emails. I eat a Honey Crisp apple, which are the best this time of year.

2:00 PM: Quinn wakes up, which is perfect timing because we need to leave for his 4-month doctor’s appointment soon. We take Murphy for a quick walk and then hit the road by 2:30 PM.

3:00 PM: We meet Mal at the doctor’s office. Quinn gets his 4-month shots. He cries. I cry. We are all okay in the end.

4:15 PM: On the drive home, Mal and I decide to stop for a beer at the Abington Ale House. We also end up ordering a couple of appetizers to share for dinner.

The end.
