When I heard about the bombings at the Boston Marathon yesterday morning, these were the things that mattered to me:
- My FAMILY, who watches the marathon every year on Boylston Street, was safe and sound.
- My FRIENDS, who were running and spectating the marathon, were safe and sound.
- The PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF BOSTON were safe and sound and being protected by officials the best they could.
When I heard about the bombings at the Boston Marathon, these were the things that did NOT matter to me:
- My BLOG. Honestly, it was one of the last things that crossed my mind. (My blog was also down Tuesday morning when I found out, so I couldn’t make changes to my posting schedule and I’m sorry if I upset people with my previous post, but, in the grand scheme of things, does that post REALLY matter?)
What happened in Boston on Monday was a horrible, horrible, horrible tragedy. Being from Boston and a runner myself, I am obviously greatly affected and deeply saddened by what happened. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was touched by this horrific event.
