Last week when I planned my trip New York City, I told Theodora that running in Central Park in the early morning with friends followed by a bagel breakfast was what I considered a perfect morning. I’m pretty sure I referred to the experience as “a little piece of heaven.” Maybe I’m weird, but the simple things in life make me the happiest.
This morning, Theodora and I set out for a 7-mile run. By 6:15, it was already 78 degrees and muggy, so I sweat profusely within 60 seconds of starting to run and continued to do so for the next 1.5 hours.
Theodora and I ran about three miles before bumping into Ali by the reservoir. Hooray for running buddies!
Sweat is sexy.
The three of us ran about two miles together before saying goodbye to Ali, and then Theodora and I ran another two miles back home. The 7-mile run totally flew by for me. I still can’t get over it. It didn’t feel that far at all. I guess the miles really fly by when you’re having fun!
On our way home, Theodora and I stopped to get bagels for breakfast. I ordered a toasted whole wheat everything bagel with cream cheese and a coconut water. It was exactly what I wanted.
When I finished my run, I wasn’t in the mood for iced coffee, but now I am. Must find iced coffee ASAP!
Question of the Day
What is your perfect morning all about?
