Move over Oatmeal Raisin Cookies! There’s a new cookie in town!

These Chewy Cherry Oatmeal Cookies are similar to classic Oatmeal Raisin Cookies, but a lot more fun with sweet and tangy dried cherries mixed in. Here’s another recipe to add to your Cookie Friday collection!

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 cup ground flaxseed meal
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick butter, softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dried cherries

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 350*F.
  • Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well until batter is blended evenly.
  • Portion cookies on a greased baking sheet, approximately 1-2 inches apart.
  • Bake cookies for approximately 12-15 minutes.
  • Remove cookies from baking sheet and allow to cool on wire rack.
  • Eat and enjoy!

Makes 8-10 cookies
