The nice folks at Yellow + Blue sent me 3 of their wines to sample a few weeks ago. Of course, I had plenty of time to drink their delicious wines, but not to write a proper review about them. Sometimes, I’m a bad blogger like that. 😕
My first encounter with Yellow + Blue wines was at a wine tasting at the Fruit Center Marketplace back in March. Instantly, I fell in love with this company and their passion for great, certified organic wines that are better for the planet. Their name says it all: Yellow+Blue. “When you mix the two together, you get green ”” as in environmentally conscious, forward thinking and committed to positive change.” I love this!
Yellow + Blue’s wines are packaged in a lightweight, juice box-like carton, called a Tetra Pak. The Tetra Pak helps reduce the wine’s carbon footprint by decreasing waste and shipping costs.
- The Tetra Pak is made from 75% paper harvested from responsibly managed forests.
- They’re far lighter and less bulky than bottles when it comes time for shipping.
- The Tetra Pak holds two more glasses of wine than a bottle, which is a better value for your dollar.
This evening, I cracked opened the 2008 Malbec, which was intensely red in color with aromas of plum, berries, and spice. It’s delicious and SO SMOOTH! A perfect choice for a leisurely Friday night.
For dinner, I kept it simple with a homemade salad. I ate a substantial lunch and a big-ass cookie from Hi-Rise Bakery, so (not surprisingly) I wasn’t that hungry for dinner. Plus, I needed some veggies in my diet today!
As always, I craved something sweet after dinner. I started with a dark chocolate Adora disk.
And then decided to pick-out the chocolate-covered raisins (and a few nuts) from my CNC Trail Mix. Desperate times call for desperate measures!
Mal and I received Season 4 of Weeds from Netflix today (we’re obsessed!), so that’s our plan for the night!
Happy weekend, blog friends! 😎
