Attention: Pug people!
This is one of the most exciting projects I have ever encountered.
Introducing 1000 Pugs!!!
1000 Pugs is the ultimate expression of pug love by San Francisco pet photographer, Amanda Bradshaw. Her goal is equal parts genius, ridiculous, and insane: to photograph 1000 pugs in a single year.
Amanda’sĀ goal is three-fold:
- Use 1000 Pugs as a vehicle to raise money for pug rescue ($10k, to be exact)
- Create the ultimate celebration of all things pug!
- Showcase the largest single collection ofĀ pug cuteness this world has ever seen (in both online and printed form)
Each pug photographed will be featured in the 1000 Pugs online gallery as well as 1000 Pugs the book, which is planned for release in 2013 and will feature all 1000 pugs.
So cool!! Sign me Murphy up!
If you/your pug would like to participate, check out the 1000 Pugs tour schedule and register your pug for a photoshoot. The sitting fee is $50, and $10 of it will be donated to pug rescue. Winter and Spring dates are already booking up, and Fall dates (Boston!) will open on April 1, which, of course, is already on my calendar⦠with a reminder.
Lunch
After breakfast this morning, I headed out to NuVal. On my drive there, I swung by Bruegger’s to get my three free bagels. Yay! (Oh, it’s the little things in life.) I picked two Everything bagels (so Mal and I don’t fight) and one Sesame bagel.
At Bruegger’s, I also ordered a bagel sandwich to take with me to NuVal for lunch. On it was turkey, sundried tomato spread, green bell pepper, lettuce, and tomato.
I ordered my sandwich on a toasted Parmesan-Asiago bagel. I <3 cheese.
I finished off lunch with a cup of pumpkin spice coffee with cream and sugar from the office Keurig machine.
Snack
At home, I snacked on a Van’s Power Grains Waffle with Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Peanut Butter spread on top. I had a serious craving for a big cookie, but we didn’t have any in the house and I didn’t feel like baking, so I figured this was a good substitution. It actually tasted so delicious, I ate two of them.
Workout
Somehow, I forgot to blog about last night’s CrossFit workout in this morning’s post, so here’s a recap!
Skill: Rope Climbs & Knees to Elbows
WOD: “Multiplier”
5 rounds for time of:
4 Dead Lifts
8 Burpee Box Jumps
16 Knees to Elbow
24 Double Unders
Rope Climbs were fun (obviously), and I made some great progress on Knees to Elbows last night. During the WOD, I actually did a whole bunch of real ones. Ok, I didn’t touch my knees to my elbows every time, but I kipped and got my knees pretty close to my elbows, which is someĀ serious progress and so much harderĀ than the Knee Raises I’ve been doing for the past several weeks now. All of a sudden Knees to Elbows just clicked, and it was awesome.
Knees to Elbows? Say what? Here’s a video to show ya what they’re all about:
For the rest of the WOD, I managed Level 1 exercises: Deadlifts (95 pounds), Box Jumps (20″) and 2 x Single Unders for the Double Unders. Hey, I’ll take it. I’m just happy about my (nearly legit) Knees to Elbows!
Fun event tonight! Need to get ready.
Enjoy the evening, friends!

Okay, I need to get a bagel.. like right now!
That’s such a cool goal that Amanda has – and very cute subjects too! Hopefully Murphy can be a stop on her tour!
1000 Pugs is sooo adorable! What a terrific project!
love vans waffles. i can only buy them when on sale though- kinda pricey! that looks DELICIOUS!
so glad you informed me of this bagel deal!! i am in boston for work right now — googling the closes bruegger’s as we speak!
Thanks for sharing the pug photo shoot Tina! Hopefully I can get my little baby in!
Hi Tina! It’s been almost two months since you pledged to clean up your diet, eating fewer treats and making healthier decisions:
“I want to eat quality foods that give me energy and help my body recover, build muscle, and burn fat. (Of course, there will always be cookies, beer, and other fun foods in my dietāājust less of them.)”
Can you tell us how it’s been going? Obviously, we see most of what you eat, but do you feel you’ve been able to meet your personal goal?
It’s going great! As i mentioned, I’ll have an update for everyone in early March! š
OMG SO CUTE! There is a special place in my heart for pugs since I have a puggle. I wish he could qualify, I mean he’s got some pug in him for sure!
I wish there was a Brueggers near me, I’d love free bagels! Also, how good is the pb&j co cinnamon raisin swirl pb? I love it almost as much as I love white chocolate wonderful š
Hi, Tina. I just commented on this the other day with your Soy Fish recipe, but I’m commenting again. The link scavenger hunts are driving me nuts! I’m not sure why your link about Bruegger’s Bagels took me to another one of your posts where there I had to find the link to take me to the Bruegger’s information about the free bagels. Why link at all if we have to go thru so many links to find what you’re trying to show us?
I really like the blog and have been a long time reader, but I have been noticing this a lot lately and its driving me nuts!
Bruegger’s sammys are the best! I wish we had one down here in Dayton.
That peanut butter looks awesome! Is that PB&co brand??
When I glanced at the title I read “1000 Knees to Elbows.” I think my hands tore just thinking about that. Ha! Nice work on the KTE. I love it when those trickier movements finally click.
Gotta love cute, furry lil snouts of sweetness…x1000!
Your workouts are kick butt!
Ugh those look SO hard! Love the idea of a waffle and PB instead of a cookie. I normally do a date stuffed with peanut butter. Cookies are just too good though. Not sure they can be replaced!
Nice work on the Knees to Elbow. They are tricky! I still have to modify those but I’ll get there one day!
Thanks for linking to the bruegers this morning, I went for a jog and picked up bagels for my roommates to surprise them with! Good way to start a thursday š
Omg 1000 pugs!! I hope it’s coming near us so we can sign Olive up!!
Love the pug idea!!!
That cinnamon swirl peanut butter sounds (and looks) to die for!!!!
Aww what an adorable idea! Pugs are so cute! š
I love bagel sandwiches but find them to be too much bread at that same time. So glad they came out with Bagel thins at the store. Of course, they don’t carry a jalapeno cheddar bagel thin. That would be nice. š
So cute!! I love the 1000 pug project!
That is such a cute project! I’m jealous you got your free bagels! š The Brueggers is too far from me. I’m glad I have bagels at home cause I’m going to need to eat one tonight. I have a craving for them now.
I really shouldn’t read your blog when I’m hungry! The bagel sandwich looks spectacular. Question: when did you stop worrying about the calorie count of your meals? I’m feeling a little hung up on numbers right now.
I love brueggers, which we had one in nyc! I have the same water bottle!
That is such a great cause and project!!! Your bagel looks amazing too!
I so need a bagel right now! I haven’t had one in ages š
That bagel sandwich looks delicious!!
Thanks for all these videos! I go into bootcamp and share them with my instructor and he’s loving them.
Also, turkey on a bagel with shmear is like my favorite thing in the world. Seriously. Well maybe that and a muffin.
Enjoy the evening in the hotel Tina! Please send bagels!!! š Kidding..
OH those bagels look delicious! I want one now!
Nice job on the WOD!!-I am off to teach BodyPUMP now š
That pug event sounds awesome! Definitely a book I would buy, even though I don’t have a pug.
This is weird – I was just wondering if I wrote my 1000 Pug appointment down in my phone or in my dead laptop when I clicked on your blog in google reader – I was definitely confused when I saw this post and thought I had clicked on the wrong blog! You know I signed Basil up for his portrait as soon as registration opened up!
I’m so glad I have bagels in my freezer right now because you just gave me a major craving! š
Oh you and your crossfit are just so epic! The bagels look tasty too!
Now I’m very thankful that I have some waffles in the freezer waiting for me tomorrow morning š
aahh I don’t have a pug but how cute is that! I hope murphy makes the book!
How cute! 1000 pugs! You have to show us the picture of Murphy when he makes it in the book, you know he will!!! Your cookie waffle looks good! I love waffles, haven’t had them in a while and the bagel sandwich, looks delish! Now I want to try to make homemade bagels, see what you do to me? I need so me BREAD!!!
Im curious to what happened to your featured dog posts?? I loved them:) maybe I’m sad because my pup never made it up;)
@Danielle: I was very curious about that too. You can’t even find the old posts so maybe we were imagining it? š
Next up, there needs to be a 1000 Chihuahuas project. They definitely compete with Pugs for exceptional cuteness and overall awesomeness. Check out my blog and you’ll understand where I’m coming from.
Seeing your bagel reminds me of how much I miss having good bagel places nearby. Apparently Oregon hasn’t gotten the memo yet. We have good bread places like Great Harvest, but for some reason, bagels are a rare comodity.
That pug project sounds so awesome! I love love love pugs š
I used to LOVE Bruegger’s when I lived in Boston. Mostly, I loved the bagel saw…ha! š
I hope WF has those power waffles when I visit this weekend…?
Hi Tina
Where do you find all the amazing peanut butters you always have??
Most of them come from Stop & Shop!
Bagel sandwiches are amazing. And just bagels in general. I am a carb lover and always will be!
That snack looks INCREDIBLE!
When I visited LA a few years ago, I got a sandwich from Breuggers and couldn’t stop raving about it for months…such delicious bagels!
This is so adorable! What an awesome awesome idea š And your bagel looks to die for.. YUM!!
They sell Peanutbutter & Co and my local Whole Foods and I keep wanting to try it. I think your picture and your description just pushed me over the edge!
