Sandwich Happy

Loonng day… followed by an even looooonnnnger day tomorrow. Yowsahs.

Abs class went well tonight (I’ll post the exercises tomorrow)! There were no stopwatch snafus, and I was much less nervous tonight than last week. I also gave my first Nautilus orientation– a 30-minute session that introduces a member to the first 7 machines in the Nautilus circuit, which provides a full body workout (major muscle groups). The orientation went fairly well, but I think I rushed through it. I was nervous, so I kind of whizzed though the exercises without a lot of explanation. I told the women to let me know if she has any questions once she does the circuit on her own, so hopefully, she’ll contact me if something wasn’t clear. I definitely learned how to improve from my mistakes tonight. Let’s hope the next time is much better!

I arrived home and immediately headed to the refrigerator to whip-up a quick dinner, which ended up being a veggie sandwich on Ezekiel bread with melted Grueyere cheese and maple mustard from Cold Hollow Cider Mill in Vermont.

The veggies on my sandwich included: thinly-sliced cucumbers, red onion, sprouts, and baby carrots on the side.

For dessert, I had a pumpkin raisins muffin and a small handful of peanut butter and chocolate chips. I needed something sweet to wash down those pungent onions!

It might look like it, but Mal is not some sort of glowing, paranormal being. My camera is seriously struggling. It’s time to say goodbye. :(

Good night, folks! Another long day tomorrow!

My Camera is Dying

Sad news: My camera has finally kicked the bucket. My photos just don’t look as sharp and clear as they used to, which, honestly, is completely understandable considering the abuse my camera has taken over the last 2 years. Poor, poor camera.

The new camera that I really want is this one, but I’ll probably opt for something much cheaper. I’m a die-hard Canon user, so I will likely buy an inexpensive PowerShot ELPH. My last 2 digital cameras were PowerShot ELPHs, and I loved them! So easy to use and they take GREAT photos! Of course, if you have recommendations, please send them my way! :)

Breakfast this morning was the usual: Instant oatmeal with honey Puffins, banana, and 2 spoonfuls of peanut butter. I feel like I should apologize for eating the same thing almost every morning, but I just really love this breakfast! It’s so satisfying and delicious! Peanut butter, banana, and healthy carbs, especially after a workout, are the BEST refueling foods.

Lunch was a wonderful Mal-made sandwich. As part of Mal’s Sunday night ritual, he makes 5 sandwiches, all at once, for the upcoming work week. He wraps each one in tinfoil, keeps them in his classroom refrigerator, and eats one each day of the week. Mal swears that the sandwiches keep fairly well and don’t get soggy. Although, he has admitted that his Friday sandwich isn’t always the freshest.

While Mal was making his stash of sandwiches for the week, he made a couple for me as well. Mal’s sandwich creation: ham and swiss on whole wheat with sprouts and tomato. So good! And I have another one to look forward to tomorrow! :)

Lunch concluded with a ginger snap Larabar. Yuuummm.

My planned afternoon snack is peach-flavored Chobani with fiber sticks. (Not the whole bag of fiber sticks pictured. I just brought the big bag to work, so I wouldn’t need to keep packing little baggies of cereal.)

My sandwich and Larabar are doing a fantastic job warding off my hunger. At some point, I will need to eat my snack because I am working at HW tonight and won’t have a chance to eat dinner until almost 9:00. These long days are killer!
