Yesterday, we visited The Enchanted Village at Jordan’s Furniture!
My mom, sister, and nephew came to visit and then we all headed down to Avon to see what The Enchanted Village was all about. We had heard great things and it definitely put us in the holiday spirit, but, holy cow, it was busy for a Wednesday. I can’t even imagine what it would be like on a weekend. Check out the ropes for the weekend crowds!
Anyway, we made it inside The Enchanted Village and it was quite adorable with all sorts of festive holiday scenes.
Local folks: The history is quite interesting, and I love that Jordan’s kept the tradition alive!
Quinn enjoyed The Enchanted Village and seemed somewhat curious about the different displays…
But what he really loved was the fake snow that intermittently fell from the sky. A special song played each time it was about to snow and his face lit up with excitement every time. Oh my gosh, it was adorable.
Ok, this might be the only time you’ll ever hear me say this, but, after seeing Quinn’s reaction to fake snow, I can’t wait for real snow to arrive!
Quinn was also mesmerized by the Enchanted Water Show.
It was really cool!
And then it was time to visit Santa…
Smiling is not Quinn’s favorite. Poor guy. But, honestly, I don’t think Santa even scared him all that much. I actually think he was upset because we took away his popcorn for the photo. Haha! Matthew had a much better time with Santa and even shared his popcorn with him! So cute. I guess we should have let Quinn hold the bag of popcorn for his photo? Every parent needs a crying kid with Santa photo, right?
After visiting Santa, Grandma bought everyone some famous blueberry muffins from Jordan’s before heading home for lunch.
When Mal got home from school, we broke open our Advent calendar.
We missed December 1st, so there were two chocolates to eat yesterday.
Quinn caught right on with how Advent calendars work! Mmm!
After that, we picked our next activity for 24 Days of Togetherness. It was “share a funny memory and one thing you’re looking forward to.”
- Mal’s funny memory: Me cracking up at “cheese Hauperts.” It’s a long story, but Matthew first called us the “tree Hauperts” and then Mal said we should be called the “cheese Hauperts” because we all like cheese so much. I dunno why, but I thought it was hilarious. I was crying I was laughing so hard!
- My funny memory: Quinn’s goat noise. It’s basically just him making a low, enthusiastic yelling/gorwling noise. It’s so funny.
- What Mal is looking forward to: Quinn talking. We’re definitely at that whining/frustrated stage. Quinn knows what he wants, but he can’t quite communicate it yet.
- What I’m looking forward to: Christmas Day at our house this year!
Question of the Day
