Hellooooo and happy, happy, happy Monday to you!
We had quite a busy weekend over here, so let’s get right to it with a weekend recap!
FRIDAY
Day 11: Take a family photo!
SATURDAY
Mal recently joined a new CrossFit, so Quinn and I went with him to check it out on Saturday morning.
The WOD was a partner workout, so Mal and I teamed up, which meant we needed to share a bar and pick a weight that worked for the both of us. We went with #75, which was fine until about, oooh, round 3 when the push presses started to kick my butt. I ended up push jerking the rest of the reps, so we definitely should have scaled back. Oh well. It was still a fun way to break a sweat together. I miss working out with Mal!
Also important to note: The workout required that you didn’t put down the bar between exercises (only rounds), which definitely made it a lot more challenging!

After CrossFit, we headed to Starbucks to complete Day 12 of 24 Days of Togetherness: Get holiday drinks from Starbucks. Mal ordered an iced peppermint latte, and I went with an iced Americano with eggnog. Mmm! Related: I heard the Flat White is incredible. Opinions? I definitely want to try it!
Back at home, I quickly showered and then headed to my sister’s Sprinkle. Never heard of a Sprinkle? It’s basically a light baby shower. Instead of “showering” the mom-to-be with gifts, like you would with a baby shower, you “sprinkle” her with just a few necessities.
The super cute sign below is from Sunflower Paperie. Kate, the owner, also did the decorations for my mom’s 60th, Quinn’s birthday party, and my baby shower. Clearly, I’m a huge fan! And Kate is offering CNC readers free shipping for domestic customers until the end of the year with code CNCFREE.
My sister’s Sprinkle was so nice and she received all sorts of adorable baby girl clothing. Little Karli is going to be one well-dressed little girl!
SUNDAY
On Sunday morning, I joined the KFIT ladies for the Yulefest 5K, which, once again, was an incredible time!
The race was a lot of fun (and super duper crowded), and I somehow managed to beat my time from last year by 14 seconds (24:42)! Heyyyyyy!
And yesterday was alllllllll about the post-race party. Our group was so big, we had our own VIP tent!
Isn’t this Suzy Kuzy Beer Mitt amazing?! I totally want one!
I drank approximately 197 hard ciders… a PR for sure!
Dance party!
