Hi, friends!
Now that I am back into the swing of things with working out, I am all about healthy eating and selecting quality foods to fuel my workouts– both before and after. I hate exercising on an empty stomach (I feel like I have zero energy), so I always make sure to eat a small snack about an hour or two before. Usually, it’s something with a good mix of carbs, protein, and a little bit of fat to give me energy and keep me satisfied. Post-workout, I like to refuel the same way, but I put an emphasis on protein and make sure I consume my snack within 20-30 minutes of finishing my workout. That said, let me tell you about a new snack that I have been chowing before workouts and throwing in my gym bag for after workouts. It’s a delicious one!
I was recently contacted by the folks at Larabar to sample their new grain-free, gluten-free granola, which is a blend of non-GMO fruits, nuts, and seeds, called Renola. (Renola means “Reinventing Granola,” and it’s packed full of nutrition without the filler.)
I loved Larabar’s new granola so much, I partnered with them to bring you guys this post and an awesome giveaway to win some Renola to try yourself. (I have a good feeling you will LOVE it!)
Renola comes in 3 flavors (Cocoa Coconut, Berry, and Cinnamon Nut) and you can find it in the cereal aisle at your local Target and other retailers.
Ok, let me tell you about some of the snacks I’ve enjoyed using Renola. They’re all super easy to make and travel-friendly, so you can just pack them up in Tupperware and go. Easy as that! These snacks are perfect for when you need a quick bite to eat, like right before or after a workout, but they’re also delicious at any time of the day!
Granola Banana Mash
Looking for a quick and super satisfying snack? Try this Granola Banana Mash! Just slice up a banana, add your favorite flavor of Renola, drizzle with honey, and mash up with a folk. You’ll have a mushy mess of deliciousness in no time!
Healthy Blueberry Crisp for One
This Healthy Blueberry Crisp is one of my favorite healthy treats. It’s wonderful as a dessert and perfect for giving you quick energy right before a workout!
Here is how to make it: In a microwave-safe dish, add a scoop of almond butter to 1/2 cup of fresh blueberries and then nuke it in the microwave for 45 seconds. Mix it all together and then top with Renola. It tastes just like blueberry crisp, but healthier and without all of the added sugar.
Fruit, Greens + Granola
This 3-ingredient salad can be thrown together in a matter of minutes. Grab a handful or two of your favorite fresh greens (baby spinach, arugula, spring mix), add your favorite kind of fruit (peach, apple, strawberries), and top with a hearty serving of Renola. Fruit, veggies, nuts, and seeds”¦ this snack has it all!
Granola + Almond Milk
Everyone loves granola and milk, right? Now there’s a grain-free, gluten-free, and Paleo-friendly option!
Giveaway time! Here is your chance to win a 9-ounce bag of each of the Renola flavors (3 bags total per winner).
To enter: Just leave a comment on this post about your favorite way to eat granola and why you’d like to try Renola. I’ll randomly pick THREE winners on Friday morning.
Good luck!
