• Pick-Me-Up Smoothie

    I’ve always loved smoothies. There’s just something so enjoyable, even comforting, about sipping a cold, creamy, and satisfying smoothie. It’s basically a treat in beverage form, and this recipe for a Pick-Me-Up Smoothie is exactly that: a treat!

    Made with banana, creamy almond butter, almond milk, espresso, honey, vanilla, and cinnamon, this smoothie has a wonderful, slightly sweet almond and coffee flavor to it. It almost tastes like dessert, but for less than 250 calories per serving, you can enjoy it guilt-free whenever you need a natural boost of energy!

    Pick-Me-Up Smoothie

    Serves 1

    Ingredients

    • 1 small frozen banana
    • 1 tablespoon creamy almond butter
    • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
    • 1 ounce espresso or strong coffee
    • 1 teaspoon honey
    • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    • 2-3 ice cubes

    Directions

    Combine all ingredients in a blender until smooth.

    Hi, when you said “1 ounce of coffee” did you mean the grounds or the straight up brewed coffee?

    This smoothie is delicious! I’m 21 weeks pregnant and it is helping me get more calcium in. I added about a cup of raw spinach as well…just as tasty! Thanks!
