Finally! Here is my Stitch Fix post!

Plain and simple: It’s awesome! I’m totally obsessed, and I can’t believe I waited so long to try it!

Just a heads up: The Stitch Fix link above is a referral link, so I earn Stitch Fix credit for anyone who signs up, but this post was not sponsored in anyway. (CNC is obviously not a fashion blog, so I doubt it’s even on Stitch Fix’s radar!) If you sign up for Stitch Fix, you can use your referral link the same way and tell your family and friends about it, so you can earn credit too.

So, what is Stitch Fix all about? Well, it’s basically an online styling service. You fill out a “style profile” to figure out your sizing and get a sense of your current style and where you’d like to be. It covers everything from occupation to frequency of special events in your life to accessories and what parts of your body you’d most like to flaunt. It’s comprehensive, but necessary so your personal Stitch Fix stylist can select pieces for you.

It only costs $20 per “Fix” and you can schedule them as often as you’d like. You can get your Fix once a season, once a month, or even once a week. You just log into your Stitch Fix account and select the date you want your shipment to arrive. So, if you know a vacation or special event is coming up (holiday season, high school reunion, spring break), you can schedule a Fix just in time for it.

And then your Fix arrives in the mail! Woohoo!

Each shipment includes five pieces (clothing and/or accessories) based on your style profile. You can’t request specific items, but you can give your stylist an idea of what you’re looking for when you schedule your Fix. I didn’t have any specific requests and just let my stylist do her thing, and here’s what she picked for me (top left to right):

  • Laysander Striped Cowl Neck 3/4 Top
  • Seurat Dot Crew-Neck Sweater
  • Amrita Ankle Length Jean
  • Felix Zig-Zag Drape Front Cardigan
  • Saffron Abstract Print V-Neck Dolman Top

Each piece came with a styling card, which showed me how to wear it.

As you know, I can’t dress myself, so I found this to be incredibly helpful.

I actually saved the cards of the things I ended up keeping for future reference. I need all the help I can get!

Once your Fix arrives, here’s how it works:

  1. Try On All Of Your Items
  2. Decide What You Want to Keep – You have 3 days to decide what you’ll keep and send back. Stitch Fix provides a pre-paid mailing bag, so all you have to do is drop it in a USPS mailbox. If you keep all five items, you save 25% off the entire shipment.
  3. Check Out – Log into your Stitch Fix account, pay for the items you want, and provide feedback about the items that worked and didn’t work.

I ended up keeping two out of the five pieces from my first Fix. I considered keeping four out of the five pieces, but price ultimately made my decision. The average price point is $65, which isn’t super expensive, but not cheap either.

Here’s how it went down with the pieces in my first Fix:

  • Laysander Striped Cowl Neck 3/4 Top ($58): Loved it and kept it! I wanted some more dressy-casual pieces like a cowl neck shirt that I could wear to dinner or a blog event, so this top was perfect. I also just really like stripes!
  • Abstract Print V-Neck Dolman Top ($78): I passed on this item solely because of price. I liked it, but I didn’t think I’d wear it a ton (for the price).
  • Amrita Ankle Length Jeans ($68): I really loved these and wished they fit. They cost $68, which was a little pricey, but still reasonable for a more trendy pair of jeans. They fit, but they were too long, which meant I would have needed to pay to get them hemmed, so I didn’t think they were worth it in the end.
  • Seurat Dot Crew-Neck Sweater ($88): It was the most expensive piece of the bunch, but I absolutely loved it and saw myself wearing it a ton. I love thin sweaters (so comfy, so cozy, not too hot) and wear them all the time, so it was definitely a keeper.
  • Felix Zig-Zag Drape Front Cardigan ($78): It just wasn’t my style. I tried it on and sorted of liked it, but I just didn’t see myself wearing it a whole lot.

As you can see, my first Fix was a success. I didn’t keep everything, but I really loved everything that was sent. I thought it was pretty incredible that my Stitch Fix stylist nailed my style and just about everything she sent fit me perfectly. I mean, that’s the hardest part about online shopping, right?

All in all, my first Stitch Fix experience surpassed my expectations. I read about it on a few people’s blogs, but I honestly thought Stitch Fix would be something I tried once just for fun, but would probably never do again. But, I loved the clothes so much and saw how easy the whole process was, I already planned my second Fix.

Clearly, I’m a big fan of Stitch Fix! I hope you found my review helpful and happy shopping!
