Good morning! Happy Thursday, friends!

I haven’t done a day-in-the-life post for quite awhile now””you know, with my meals and snacks and all that jazz. I actually kind of miss writing them sometimes, so I thought it was time for one. With that said, here’s a peek into my Wednesday!

Breakfast

My morning started with my new favorite breakfast: applesauce mixed with Paleo “granola” and fresh blueberries. It’s the easiest and quickest breakfast to throw together (seriously, like 2 minutes), and it’s so delicious. (I also drank a glass of Everyday Green Juice with breakfast, but I never snapped a photo.)

I always used to think applesauce was the most useless food. I mean, it tastes okay and all, but it doesn’t do anything for my hunger. I could honestly eat an entire jar in one sitting and probably still be hungry.

Randomly, a couple of weeks ago, I had a major craving for applesauce while shopping at Whole Foods. I bought a jar, and I’ve been on a serious applesauce kick ever since. Now I always make sure to mix it with a more substantial food(s), such as almond butter, coconut butter, banana slices, shredded coconut, canned pumpkin, or a combination of ingredients, so it fills me up and satisfies me.

Workout

After breakfast, I got dressed in my workout gear, took Murphy for a walk, and then headed to CrossFit for a workout. G.I. Jane was on the agenda:

METCON

Benchmark WOD
“GI Jane”
For time:
100 Burpee Pull-ups

I hadn’t done G.I. Jane since February 2012 when I first started CrossFit, so I wanted to see how I would do. It actually took me almost 2 minutes longer to finish this time, but I did the workout Rx instead of using a box to jump up to the bar for the pull-ups. I finished in 12:59.

After G.I. Jane, I was a mess””covered in chalk, sweat, and dirt (from the black mats on the floor of our box). And, of course, I went to run errands immediately after that. I wonder what people think when they see me? Haha!

First, I stopped by Marshalls for some storage bins. I had an urge the other night to organize our pantry, so that project is on the agenda for this weekend.

Then, I stopped by the dog shop to buy Murphy more food.

When I got home, I planned to snap a photo of the pug with the bag of his food for Instagram since he’s so obsessed with it, but when I went to take the photo, the little sneak tried to lick his food. Murphy knows better and wouldn’t try to eat it with me standing right there, but he definitely tested the waters! I thought it was so funny seeing his little tongue in this picture. Haha! Clearly, he knows how to take advantage of the situation!

Lunch

A little while later, Mal’s family came over for lunch. We’ve raved about the new Whole Foods near our house so much, they suggested going there to check it out and grab lunch. Obviously, I was totally on board with this plan!

We all did our own thing at Whole Foods and then we took our lunches back to our house to eat outside on our back porch while we caught up.

Lunch concluded with a couple of pieces of salted almond dark chocolate. Mmm!

After a few hours, we all said goodbye and then I immediately hopped in the car to drive north to visit my nephew, Matthew.

How adorable is his little face?! And doesn’t he look so much bigger? My brother-in-law told me Matthew is “crushing bottles lately.” Haha!

Matthew is being baptized in a few weeks, and my sister and brother-in-law asked me to be his godmother, so I joined them for a session at their church last night. One of the parish priests helped us become familiar with the commitments and responsibilities required of raising a child in the Catholic church. His message was really great: lead by example.

Dinner

When I got home, I reheated some leftovers from the previous night’s dinner: seared sea scallops with roasted veggies and coleslaw. Delish!

I finished off the night with a few handfuls of trail mix while watching Big Brother. Anyone else into that show? A couple of our friends turned us onto it, so now Mal and I are the biggest fans. We never miss an episode!
