Are you ready for a recap of Day 2 of Fitbloggin’? I think it was even more fun than Day 1! Day 2 started with my favorite kind of morning: fitness, friends, green juice, a farmers’ market, and the most delicious smoothie I have ever tasted (really).
Workout
After eating a quick breakfast, I participated in a JumpSport trampoline workout. I had such a blast at last year’s event, I immediately signed up so I could take it again. I also pressured encouraged my friends to sign up as well! 😉
Like last year’s class, we paired up with a partner and alternated performing exercises on the trampoline and floor. Each interval was 45 seconds, and the workout was a lot more challenging that I remembered it. Maybe I was just tired or the exercises were harder this year? I dunno, but I was sweating buckets and even needed to take a break toward the end of class. My quads were burning from all of the different jumping exercises on the trampoline.

After the JumpSport workout, I got to meet The Laughing Cow! Don’t you just love his earrings?
My second workout of the day was a CrossFit WOD by Reebok. Yay!!
The session started with Reebok CrossFit trainer, Matt DellaValle, giving the group a brief introduction to CrossFit, which I’ve heard a hundred times now, but still very much enjoy listening to.
There are so many misconceptions about CrossFit, and I love that trainers like Matt take the time to explain what CrossFit is really all about: constantly varied (never the same thing twice), functional (training for life), safe (!!!), universally scalable (everyone can do it), community-based (welcoming and friendly), and hugely fun (obviously). I think Matt’s intro helped clear up some pre-conceived notions and fears about CrossFit and got people excited about it!
Then, it was time to practice the exercises with proper form for the WOD: push-ups, sit-ups, and squats.
The WOD was an AMRAP 4 of 5 push-ups, 7 sit-ups, and 9 air squats, so we did as many rounds as possible of those 3 exercises in 4 minutes. It definitely wasn’t the toughest CrossFit workout I’ve ever done, but it gave everyone a good taste of what the “sport of fitness” is all about.

Snack
After working out, a group of us headed to Kure (again) for juice and smoothies. We seriously could not get enough of this place!
This time, I stumbled upon a “figgy bar” made from almonds, coconut, dates, figs, and chia seeds. It looked so good, I just had to buy it.
And it was delicious. It sort of tasted like a Fig Newton with a sweet almond flour crust. Mmm!

After stopping by Kure, we visited the nearby farmers’ market, which was epic. It was massive and had so many amazing vendors selling fresh fruit and veggies, meat, seafood, jams and jellies, baked goods, flowers, and so much more! I wish I had a farmers’ market like this closer to me!
We wandered around the farmers’ market for about an hour and then headed back to Kure. Yes, really. We went back for a third time in about 24 hours. This time, I ordered the most amazing smoothie ever. Listen to this combo: coconut yogurt, coconut milk, coconut meat, coconut water, almond butter, kale, honey, and ice. Holy yummm! MUST recreate at home!
One final Fitbloggin’ post to come! We packed a lot into 3 days!
