Good morning! Happy Friday!
Let’s get right to the food this morning, so we can talk about movies!
Breakfast
Yesterday morning’s breakfast was a toasted Van’s waffle with peanut butter and banana slices on top. The banana was really big (TWSS), so I sliced it in half and added more peanut butter inside. I also drank a glass of freshly pressed green juice with breakfast. In the juice mix: kale, apple, cucumber, celery, and ginger.
Mid-morning, Murphy and I headed to the senior home to make some visits. As you can see from the photo below, the pug takes his job very seriously. Look at that face!
Lunch
When lunchtime rolled around, I made myself an egg, cheese, and bacon wrap, which was awesome. I definitely need to make these more often in the future.
After lunch, I studied for the CrossFit Level 1 certification that I am taking this weekend. I’ve heard mixed reviews about preparing for the test. Some people say you should study before the course and some people say you’ll learn everything you need to know at the certification. Of course, I’m worried I will fail the exam, so I am studying before. Better safe than sorry!
I planned to go to Starbucks to get my study on, but it was such a nice day, I didn’t want to sit inside, so I set up on our back porch and had my own little study session””complete with cookies and iced coffee.
These Almond Power Cookies were just as delicious as a big-as-your-face cookie from Starbucks and a lot healthier!
My study session also included a lap-obsessed pug.
Movies That Stand the Test of Time
When Mal and I were driving around Ireland a couple of weeks ago, the theme song to The NeverEnding Story came on the radio. (Blast from the past, right?) Of course, as soon as we heard it, we started singing along.
And yelling “Falkor! Falkor!” like in the movie. (We are freaks. Haha!)
When I was at my mom’s house this past weekend, I stumbled upon a photo of me from my 5th birthday when I received a framed photo of the characters in the The Wizard of Oz, which was my favorite movie at the time. Actually, I was sort of obsessed with it as a kid and thought I was Dorothy.
I still love the The Wizard of Oz, and any time I see it on TV, I always stop and watch a few minutes of it. Like The NeverEnding Story, it’s a movie that stands the test of time.
