Happy National Carrot Cake Day!!!
National Carrot Cake Day is also the day that I published my very first post on Carrots ”˜N’ Cake. Crazy coincidence, right? Every year since then, I’ve celebrated both of these special occasions on February 3rd:
I still can’t believe a little online journal to keep me motivated to get in shape for my wedding day would turn into what it is today. I thank my lucky stars every single day for the opportunities that CNC has afforded me. Here are some of the best from the past year:
Hi, guys! I just got back from having lunch with Ellie Krieger. No big deal. Lunch This afternoon, Kris, Karen, and I met Ellie at Cookshop for lunch. (Kris and Karen are the PR folks from the California Grapes Commission.) Cookshop was a great spot for lunch.

Wine and beer enthusiasts can select from over 1,000 brands or enjoy tastings of specialty sponsor spirits.
Bob Harper Interview: All About CrossFit
Do you remember when I had the opportunity to interview Bob Harper and, to my surprise (and delight), more than half of his responses were about CrossFit? Well, apparently, for the past several months, Bob Harper has been training at BRICK CrossFit in Los Angeles, where he has been rockin’ the WODs and absolutely loving it.

Here’s part one of my recap of the Rebook Blogger Event just in case you missed it! Ok, where did we leave off? After CrossFit, we all headed back to Reebok Headquarters to learn about some of the sneakers on the market right now as well as some of the new ones, which will debut in July.
“The Skinny Rules” Launch Party with Bob Harper
Good times in New York City! I can’t believe my trip is already over and I’m back on the Bolt Bus to Boston. I think I may have spent almost as much time on the bus as I did in the Big Apple!
Yesterday was all about eating, drinking, and being merry””which I guess is the main point of BlogHer Food, right? Well, I’m glad I enjoyed my time to the fullest! After the morning session, Monica and I visited Pike’s Place Public Market, which was just a few blocks from the hotel.
Ahhhhhh! The CrossFit Games are absolutely amazing! I keep referring to them as “CrossFit Christmas” because they’re so fun! Again, a huge THANK YOU to GNC and Reebok for making this trip happen for me. I am forever grateful! On Friday, Heather, Kelly, and I arrived at the Games around 10:30 AM.
Reebok Fit Hub Store Opening in New York City
What a cool event! Thank you so much for inviting me, Reebok and Fitfluential! Last Thursday, I had the pleasure of attending the opening of Reebok’s new Fit Hub concept store in New York City. The Fit Hub was designed to inspire people to move, train, get fit and have fun while doing it.
2012 Healthy Living Summit Cocktail Party
When I last left you, I was on my way back to Boston via Bolt Bus. Theodora, Ashley, and I arrived at South Station just before 3:00 PM and then hopped in a cab to the Hyatt Regency Cambridge for the 2012 Healthy Living Summit.
The Whole9 Seminar was awesome. It was exactly what I expected and really helped me connected the dots with regard to my health and ulcerative colitis. The ”˜9′ in Whole9 comes from these 9 factors, which Melissa and Dallas Hartwig, the creators, believe are all important for optimal health.
Getting After It (Canton Road Race Recap)
This race recap can be summarized in five words: get after it and holy crap. On Saturday morning, I ran the 8th Annual Canton Road Race at Reebok Corporate Headquarters. When I arrived, I found Elizabeth and then the other Fitfluential ambassadors (Sarah, Robin, Katie, Mattie, and Kelly), who were also running the race.
Hello! I’m having a blast at Fitbloggin’! My morning started bright and early with a 4-mile run along the water with Monica and Lindsay. The inner harbor was gorgeous at this hour of the day. After our run, Lindsay and I said goodbye to Monica and then got ourselves all set up to sample the aminos.
Yoga with Martha Stewart at Grand Central Station
Rise and shine, it’s time for yoga with Martha Stewart! My day started bright and early at Theodora’s apartment. We were both invited to a yoga event with Martha Stewart this morning, so I spent the night on her couch (Theodora’s not Martha’s) last night.
On Saturday, Mal, Murphy, and I spent a lovely evening at Hotel Marlowe. The folks from Kimpton Hotels invited the three of us for a complimentary stay. I love hotels, so when Kimpton invited me along with Murphy, I was all about it. I love doing fun things with the pug!

Reebok Blogger Event: CrossFit WOD
Well, hello! Long time, no talk. I had quite the whirlwind weekend, which was packed full of fitness, fun, and friends, so I didn’t have a chance to blog. Sorry about that. Let’s rewind to Friday morning!
Ok, where did we leave off? Biking adventures, right? After our biking tour of Mystic, we headed back to Mohegan Sun for an afternoon at Elemis Spa. Each of us were provided with a spa service to review, so I chose a deep tissue massage.
