Good morning! I hope your day is off to a great start. Murphy’s day definitely is. Check out how I just found his bowl:

I guess breakfast was really delicious this morning! Haha!

    Breakfast

Yesterday’s breakfast was my usual French Toast Breakfast Scramble with a couple of scoops of freshly ground honey-roasted peanut butter from Fresh Market and a glass of decaf French vanilla iced coffee with almond milk. Thanks to the honey-roasted peanut butter, which is now gone (I didn’t buy all that much, but still… I have a nut butter problem), it was an especially delicious breakfast.

Top 10 Most Viewed Posts of the Year

Over the weekend, I was playing around and checking the Google Analytics for CNC. I wanted to know what kind of posts garner the most traffic, and I was surprised to see which ones received the highest number of pageviews. It turns out 7 out of my 10 most viewed posts on CNC had images that ended up on Pinterest, which just goes to show you the power of it. Mental note: Use Pinterest more.

Without further ado, here are the top 10 most viewed CNC posts of 2012!

    1. So Cheesy

My most viewed post of the year was for a recipe that wasn’t even mine! I blogged about Jessica’s Cheesy Sweet Potato Crisps back in 2010 and one of my photos was pinned (and repinned) all over Pinterest.

    2. “Oatmeal” Minus the Oats

People loved “Oatmeal” Minus the Oats in 2012! This post/image ended up on Pinterest and got pinned around a lot as well.

    3. Paleo Pumpkin Walnut Muffins

Another popular pin-able recipe! These muffins were a big hit on Pinterest, but I have to admit, I prefer my Paleo Morning Glory Muffins, which I still think are the best muffins I’ve ever made.

    4. Life Advice from Murphy

This post ended up on StumbleUpon and went crazy with click throughs. It’s probably my most favorite CNC post of all time, so I’m glad a lot of people got to read it. Murphy is one smart pug.

    5. No More Excuses: Motivational Quotes to Get Your Butt In Gear

Pinterest loved this post because it had tons of motivational quotes and images. Need a little fitness inspiration? This post is for you!

    6. 7 Low-Calorie Cocktails You Need to Try

Who doesn’t love a good cocktail? Again, this post was really popular on Pinterest.

    7. Paleo Recipes for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Paleo was all the rage last year, so this post did well—both on Pinterest and via Google/search.

    8. 45-Minute Treadmill Workout

In addition to recipes, Pinterest loves workouts! I’ve pinned all sorts of workouts on Pinterest, but this one was by far the most viewed. It is an awesome treadmill workout— probably my favorite ever.

    9. My Top 10 Favorite Foods

This post is so random… and old. I still can’t believe it was one of my most viewed of the year. It must have some really great SEO because people find it all the time and still comment on it. If you want a good laugh, read some of the comments on the last page related to “pug meat.” Haha!

    10. How 3 Months of CrossFit Changed My Body

I guess people wanted to know how CrossFit might change their body. Lots of web searches turned up this post.

    Questions of the Day

Bloggers: What are your most popular posts?

Do you use Pinterest? If so, what do you primarily use it for?

What was your favorite CNC post from last year?

P.S. I saw this card trick on Ellen the other day and just wanted to share. It’s pretty cool and you can do it at home. Of course, Mal and I broke out a deck of cards to see if it worked. (It did!)

Your making me realize I need to work in my Pinterest skills! I’m not surprised you get a lot of web traffic to your post on crossfit. Most of my google searches involve people looking for before/after using Jillian Michaels dvd’s!

My most popular posts have also been some of my most controversial. I get that though and expect it. Sometimes, I think it shows a lot of dynamic to open up and show a more serious side of blogging, but for the majority, I like to keep it light hearted and fun. A better reflection of my personality. :)

I’ve never used pinterest. I tend to shy away from whatever is “in” online and just do my own thing. After hearing about the couple that named their baby daughter hashtag, I’m thinking maybe that was a good idea. LOL

Glad you reminded me about the morning glory muffins. I’ve been wanting to try those for a while now!

    Good Morning!
I love Pinterest, but I use it mostly to explore new recipes and DIY projects. I have found the site extremely useful to finding new blogs and sites of interest. When I try a new recipe and find it successful I post it on Pinterest to share with my friends and followers.

Question: I notice that a lot of your recipes combine both whole eggs and egg whites. Do you tend to use whole eggs for egg whites or do you buy the boxed? Curious if you find one better than the other when cooking/baking? Thanks Tina!

    Reply

    Tina January 8, 2013 at 8:56 am

@Kayla: It depends what I have on hand, but I do buy boxed egg whites just because they’re more convenient. I think they’re pretty much the same.

    Kayla January 8, 2013 at 9:35 am

@Tina: I have found them to be pretty much the same..yet when baking a full egg with the yolk always provides more fluffy goodness! Thanks for the response and HAPPY TUESDAY!

I made “oatmeal minus the oats” (great recipe!) this weekend for breakfast and added a scoop of sweet potato puree. OMG, drizzled with a touch of maple syrup and scoop of nut butter = DELICIOUS :D

Thought of you after I made this paleo bread (http://www.againstallgrain.com/2012/05/21/grain-free-white-bread-paleo-and-scd/) the other night courtesy of a link off of fitnessista.com. It makes a MEAN egg sandwich and tastes fantastic with sliced banana, pb, & raspberry jam on top. Just thought you might like to check it out. I wouldn’t clog the comments with a link if it wasn’t worth the share! :)

Sometimes I love it and pin a bunch of things I can’t wait to try or am inspired by…and other times I’m just like eh, who cares, I’m never actually gonna make that. This was kinda fun/cool to read. I agree–Pinterest is very powerful, and something I need to use a bit more for sure!

Some of the searches that lead people to my site are workouts from Pinterest, info on BodyPUMP or Zumba (I teach both), disordered eating or eating disorders FYIs & info on being done with amenorrhea, and HIIT info. All of this makes sense, because I probably blog the most often about these topics!

My favorite posts of yours this year I guess would have to be all the paleo recipes, especially your banana/egg pancakes. I have used it many a time (the one with the nut butter and vanilla in it too) but now have the ratios memorized!

    Hi Tina,

I have a quick question I know you really like the fitmixer vanilla protein powder, which one do you like the best? I know they have a few different kinds, Vanilla Slim or Milkshake? The only reason I am asking is because I am not a huge fan of protein powder that tastes like protein powder if you know what I mean but I would love to make a small shake for an afternoon snack from time to time to hold me over until dinner.

Let me know what you think!

    Thanks!!
