When I was driving home from the Cape on Sunday morning, Murphy’s favorite song came on the radio, so I turned it up and sang along (like a goober).

I bet you didn’t know Murphy had a favorite song, right? He actually has a lot of favorites—some of which he determined himself and others Mal and I have decided for him because we’re weirdos and like to think our dog is a person sometimes.

    Murphy’s favorites determined by him:

Murphy’s favorites determined by Mal and me:

    • Color: Green (because it’s Mal’s favorite color)
    • Holiday: Christmas (he really wants a French bulldog puppy)
    • TV Show: Modern Family (Murphy has a crush on Stella)

Does anyone else make up likes (or dislikes) for their pet or are we super weird?

    Breakfast

This morning’s breakfast was supposed to be a two-ingredient pancake with blueberries, but I cooked it too fast and fell apart into a mushy mess. Of course, it was still edible, so I added a scoop of almond butter and devoured it. I also drank a glass of iced tea with almond milk with breakfast.

    Snack

My breakfast didn’t hold me over very well because, just a few hours later, I was hungry again, so I had some cantaloupe and blueberries with almond butter to hold me over until lunch.

    Lunch

I ate lunch at NuVal today, so I packed some food to take with me. In the salad mix: spinach, cucumber, avocado, roasted broccoli, Brussels sprouts, beets, zucchini, sautéed mushrooms, and a leftover Veggie Turkey Burger with grainy mustard on top. I also brought a couple of dates for something sweet.

I’m off to run 3 miles. According to DailyMile, it’s been 28 days since my last run. Yikes!

Everyone in our family has a boxer and we talk about them as if they’re humans. Louie the dog has a lot of favorite things as well, his first being chicken. He will literally stand in the kitchen and cry if he knows there is chicken in the oven or on the counter. His second favorite thing is pig ears, see previous statement about crying when they’re on the counter. Finally, he will talk to you if he thinks he needs a treat, needs to go potty or that you should get off the phone and pay attention to him. I love that you post about your dog!

I’m so ridiculous when it comes to my dogs. I live alone and always refer to my pup as my roommate. For example: “ugh, my roommate kept me up all night snoring and farting” or “ya i took my roommate to the park today to chase ducks and geese. she’s ridiculous and jumped in the water after them” or “my roommate sleeps on the floor next to me in her bed usually and last night she wouldnt move from the kitchen floor”

    Craziest looks ever! Haha.

Riley’s middle name is ‘porkchop’ due to his undying passion for them! he will do anything (and make us suffer the consequences of never ending sighs & big patches of drool left on the kitchen floor) for one — so we always bake one for him each time we have them. I swear, anything I sing out loud & at the top of my lungs is Riley’s favorite – he will come running from any part of the house if he hears me singing, his tail wagging like crazy (same if I laugh) — Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing is something I pick when I’m feeling a bit down or deflated, so that’s probably what he like the most as he hears it the most consistently!
