    Good morning from Murphy!

    IMG_2311 (563x750)

He’s just chillin’ on his our bed right now.

    IMG_2316 (750x563)

When I was making the bed this morning, I thought about how much I enjoy spending time in our bedroom. It’s easily my favorite room in the whole house. The bed is comfy and cozy, and when I finally climb in at the end of a long day, I always take a minute to count my blessings before I relax and fall asleep. It’s a “no phone zone” in our bedroom, so I disconnect from work and let go of the stresses of the day. (Well, I do the best I can. I’m definitely more relaxed in the bedroom than I am in any other part of the house.) I either read in bed or chat with Mal and always cuddle with Murphy. Pugs are the best cuddlers.

Yesterday (I’m a day behind with posting my eats), I ate my usual two-ingredient pancake with a scoop of sunflower butter for breakfast.

    IMG_2277 (750x563)

On the side, I had a glass of Dandy Blend with canned coconut milk and a splash of almond milk. I never thought I’d love an iced coffee “alternative,” but I look forward to drinking this one every morning. The coconut milk helps too!

My bedroom is definitely my favorite room. Since I’m living at home again right now, it’s still decorated from when I was in high school and I love the christmas lights all around the ceiling and the bright blue walls.

Anele @ Success Along the Weigh September 19, 2012 at 9:34 am

I LOVE that lamp in your bedroom!

Hmm, I’d have to say my favorite room is our bedroom too. Lots of light blue and white french country/Parisian look to it with a mix of modern and antiques.

    Tina September 19, 2012 at 9:38 am

Thanks! It actually came from my in-law’s barn! Mal and I rewired it and put it back together.

Chelsie @ Balance, Not Scale September 19, 2012 at 9:35 am

The couch in our family room is my favourite spot. It’s my quiet corner — I think that every house needs a place for you to “escape” to, for sanity’s sake!!

Ps. Your two-ingredient pancake is still way prettier than mine, but I’m getting there!! (And getting in lots of practice! I love those little buggers!! But I think my heat is still a little too high …)

    Tina September 19, 2012 at 9:38 am

Low heat is key! But, you can make a few at a time, so the next day, you can just microwave it or eat it cold.

    Brandi September 19, 2012 at 9:35 am

I would have to agree, my bedroom is my favorite place. It’s my sanctuary, my solice, my workout room, my tv room, my devotion room, where I sleep, hang out, catch a good movie… I actually just painted it and it a brighter color and it made all the difference!

Paige @ Healthy Hits the Spot September 19, 2012 at 9:35 am

My bedroom is definitely my favorite. I love with my family still, so we have a fulllll house. I have my reading area, book shelf, office, and bed in my room. It’s basically like a miny (very miny) apartment. My walls are light light blue and I’ve decorated it just like I like. I always have my window open and can see out to the neighborhood. It’s perfect 🙂

Amanda @ Eat More Rabbit Food September 19, 2012 at 9:38 am

Our bedroom is my favorite too! We have a duvet, and I just have to say, that is the best invention ever….. So warm and so comfy…. I’m getting sleepy just thinking about it!
The bathroom would be a close second only because we have a large tub with jets….. So great after a rough workout!

Ashley @ My Food 'N' Fitness Diaries September 19, 2012 at 9:39 am

I would say the kitchen is my favorite room/place in our house… I love to cook and bake in it and gather with family and friends while eating meals.

    Khushboo September 19, 2012 at 9:44 am

I love my kitchen- its very therapeutic!

Corrie Anne September 19, 2012 at 9:49 am

Your room looks so cozy and relaxing! No wonder why you love it. We haven’t done any work in our bedroom yet so the living room is my fave. Lots of bright colors + that’s that where my piano is!

Claire @ Live and Love to Eat September 19, 2012 at 9:51 am

I was thinking about how much I love our bed last night – especially with freshly washed sheets! 🙂

    Beks September 19, 2012 at 9:57 am

My favorite room, anywhere I’ve ever lived, has been my bedroom. Probably because it’s private, it’s mine, and despite the state of disaster it’s always in, I know it’s my disaster and i’ll get to it when I get to it.

I also have an amazing bed. I love it. I never want to part with it. It’s way too comfortable for its own good, especially on days when it’s slightly chilly, and I get to wrap myself in a warm blanket cocoon. *sigh* Happy place.

kathleen @ the daily crumb September 19, 2012 at 10:02 am

your bedroom is so cute! we have an amazing sun porch with a comfy couch that is perfect for curling up with a good book. love it in there.

    Lindsey September 19, 2012 at 10:07 am

My bedroom for sure. It is so cozy, but my bathtub is a close second!

    Erica { EricaDHouse.com } September 19, 2012 at 10:07 am

    Your bedding is gorgeous!
We recently instituted a ‘no phone’ rule in our bedroom as well 🙂

Maureen @ Organically Mo September 19, 2012 at 10:13 am

Our bedroom is my favorite room because I know when I am in there that I will be going to sleep! lol We also have it beach themed so it’s uber relaxing!

    tag September 19, 2012 at 10:15 am

Hmm, I think it depends on the season, really.
In the summer, I love our bedroom, we tend to hang there to watch TV at night (with the AC) and have the dogs with us to all cuddle.

In the winter, I love our living room(s). We have 2 rooms with fireplaces. If we are watching football/movie, we are in the ‘lower’ living room with a fire going and the pups curdled up with us.
Or, if we are hanging in, having a few beers, playing cards/board game and listening to music, its the original living room-with a fire and the dogs chilling out.

Michelle @ Eat Move Balance September 19, 2012 at 10:23 am

The bed frame you have is beautiful! I think my favorite room is our kitchen. It’s the “heart of the house”. 🙂

    Rachel September 19, 2012 at 10:26 am

Lately I’ve been loving my basement because it’s warm hahaha

Suzanne @ Fit Minded Mom September 19, 2012 at 10:28 am

My bedroom is definitely the place I go when I need peace and solitude!! I like the idea of it being a “no phone zone” though what I would really like is it to make mine a “no kid zone”!!!

Sara @ The Foodie Diaries September 19, 2012 at 10:28 am

My bedroom is also my home office, so as much as I love it I sometimes stresses me out because it’s not only a place to relax, it’s a place I work as well. I think one of my favorite rooms is our living room. It’s big, open, and has two huge comfy couches that I go lay on when I just want to relax and detox from a day of work.

Katie @ Peace Love and Oats September 19, 2012 at 10:36 am

Hahahahaha my “house” only has one room! But at my parent’s house my favorite space is our back patio. It’s brick and surrounded by trees and bushes and flowers. It’s so relaxing to go sit out there!

    Lea September 19, 2012 at 10:42 am

I’ve been wondering about the coconut milk you use. Is there a reason for using canned milk as apposed to the coconut milk found in the fridge section next to almond milk? I’m curious about the refrigerated kind; if the texture is less thick than canned, more like almond milk. Just wondering…Thanks 🙂

    Tina September 19, 2012 at 10:47 am

The stuff in the carton in the refrigerated section is basically watered-down coconut milk. I prefer the thick, creamy stuff in the can. It’s a lot more satisfying too!

    Kristi @ lifesprinkles September 19, 2012 at 11:04 am

my kitchen! or I guess really my kitchen-dining-living-room combo since they’re kind of all connected. it’s definitely where I spend the majority of my time. 🙂

    Nicole@TheKidlessKronicles September 19, 2012 at 11:19 am

I don’t really have a fav in this house. We are renting and it is a mess (a bit too small for all of our stuff). But in our old house, it was the bedroom. Quiet, calm, the perfect color on the walls (SW Contented) , a fireplace. Ahhh. I miss it.

    lynn @ the actor's diet September 19, 2012 at 11:28 am

i really love the office b/c it gets a lot of light, but i spend most of the time in the living room. tv trumps all.

    Delaney September 19, 2012 at 11:47 am

Murphy is so stinkin cute! I have question. How come Murph dog doesn’t wear a collar in the house? I always have collars on my dogs, guess i’m just paranoid they will get out. But they do seem to be uncomfortable for my pugs and their huge necks.

    Tina September 19, 2012 at 12:00 pm

He likes to be naked! 😉 No reason really. We just figured he’s more comfortable with it off.

    Sam September 19, 2012 at 1:00 pm

@Tina: Haha, our dog is also “naked” inside the house, and I totally crack up when I call her that. It’s just easier to attach her collar to her leash and I think it makes her feel better. Definitely strange at first when you’ve grown up with dogs always wearing collars, but I think it works for some doggies.

Stellia @ My Yogurt Addiction September 19, 2012 at 11:58 am

I love my bedroom too! Lately it has been such a mess though due to lack of time to clean up!

    Sam September 19, 2012 at 12:04 pm

I think the living room is my favorite room in the house, because it always means rest and relaxation at the end of the day.

Great bedroom, but I am completely bumfuzzled with their only being one nightstand. How does the other person function without having a lamp and nightstand? This is like my #1 priority in a bedroom 🙂 I can’t handle not having a light and place for my books, and think I’d feel all lopsided with just one. Does that make me weird?

    Annette@FitnessPerks September 19, 2012 at 12:20 pm

I like our bedroom too–oh and our living room. SO fun to just chill on the couch & watch movies. It is an open space weith lots of windows & vaulted ceiling. LOVE.

Karen @ Runner Girl Eats September 19, 2012 at 12:31 pm

I looovvee my bedroom with it’s big, cozy bed. A close second, though it isn’t technically a room, is my back yard. Nothing beats eating dinner by the fire pit on a chilly evening.

    Natalie September 19, 2012 at 1:28 pm

I have the same bedspread! I was wondering where you got those pillow cases though?

    Tina September 19, 2012 at 1:37 pm

    Marshalls! Last week, actually!

    Caroline September 19, 2012 at 3:47 pm

@Natalie: I love that bedspread…where is it from?

    Tina September 19, 2012 at 3:56 pm

The polkadot cover is from Ikea, but we bought it back in 2006/2007. The sheets are from Marshalls. I bought them last week! 🙂

Sam @ Better With Sprinkles September 19, 2012 at 3:02 pm

I’d have to agree with the bedroom…just so relaxing!

    Jessica@sweatismysanity September 19, 2012 at 4:39 pm

Oh gee’s I just left you a comment about my boys love for your dog Murphy…I’ll have to show them these pics! I guess my favorite room would have to be my bedroom. We’re in a rental right now and it’s nothing special but it’s peaceful and I love that Kimball and I don’t have to share closets. It has two walk ins and it’s awesome for bringing home new shoes or clothes…he never sees the bags. 🙂

    Angela@The Chicken Scoop September 19, 2012 at 5:55 pm

My bedroom at home just has a mirror above the bed and one wall hook by my closet. I have a hard time committing to wall hangings too!

    Melissa September 19, 2012 at 10:23 pm

Bedroom, for the same reasons as you. When I finally get in bed at night I often just sigh with contentment because it’s so cozy. I settle in with a magazine or a book but usually only make it a few pages before my eyes won’t stay open anymore.
