I’m not sure if you noticed the walls in our bedroom from this morning’s post, but there’s nothing on them. For some reason, Mal and I just can’t commit to hanging things on our walls.
Of course, we want to decorate, but I guess we’re just afraid of making a bad decision””you know, hanging up something that doesn’t look good or we later decide we don’t like and then being stuck with a nail or hole in the wall ”¦ and then needing to patch it and repaint”¦ or spending more money to find something new to hang”¦ I guess we’re commitment-phobes. Does anyone else have this problem?
Mal and I have lived in our house for almost two years now, so we’re really trying to commit and get stuff up on our walls, so, yesterday afternoon, I went to get a couple of pillow fight-themed prints framed for our bedroom. We’re planning to hang them on either side of our bed. Mal already “called” the Troy print for his side. Ha! I’m happy with Abed on my side. We’re weird and that’s okay.
I also got an old lithograph of George Washington framed. One of Mal’s relatives gave it to us as a wedding gift (more than 4 years ago), so we finally decided to get it framed. I think we might hang it in our dining room… if we can commit, of course.
After some frame fun, I went to Old Navy to return a shirt that I recently purchased. Mal made fun of it and said it was a “grandma shirt” on me, so I second-guessed my fashion choice. I thought it was stylish, but, hey, we all know I can’t dress myself.
I ended up exchanging the above shirt for this one instead:
Cute? I like it.
I’m not much of a clothing shopper (I work from home and workout, so I don’t need “dressy” clothes), but I splurged since I’m going to Baltimore tomorrow for Fitbloggin and wanted to look nice.

I seriously cannot wait for Fitbloggin. I had so much fun last year, I can’t wait to do it all again this year!
Before I left to run my errands, I ate lunch, which was scrambled egg whites mixed with mushrooms and tomatoes.
And, on the side, half of an avocado + a peach.
After running errands, I arrived home pretty hungry, but dinner wasn’t for another couple of hours, so I whipped up a Pumpkin Spice Smoothie to hold me over, and, holy crap, it was delicious! This recipe is a keeper!
Pumpkin Spice Smoothie
In the mix:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
- 1-2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 cup coconut (or almond) milk
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used egg protein)
