A Big Day for Murphy

September 28, 2012

Good morning! Happy Friday!

It’s an exciting day for Mr. Murphy! He’s scheduled for a pug photo shoot later this afternoon, so, of course, he’s super-duper excited, especially since it includes a ride in the car to the (Fenway) park, but he has no idea what to wear for it. It’s his first professional photo shoot.

Murphy is generally a fan of the “naked” look, but the photographer asked us to bring a few collar/harness options.

Decisions, decisions…

IMG_3083 (750x563)

Mom, I have no idea what to wear!

IMG_3078 (750x563)

What do YOU think?

IMG_3080 (563x750)

The green one? Really?

IMG_3081 (563x750)

I dunno, Mom. I don’t trust your fashion sense. Let’s ask your readers which one they think I should wear.

IMG_3096 (750x563)

Green with paws and bones?

IMG_3095 (750x563)

Plaid?

IMG_3086 (563x750)

Red with white bones?

What do you guys think?

Breakfast

I woke up before Mal yesterday morning to cook him breakfast. (The mornings are so dark now! Wah.) The first few weeks of school + CrossFit have been a tad crazy for him, so I wanted to make his morning a little easier. On the menu: OMG Pancakes, and Mal was psyched to have them. Pancakes on a school day? Woohoo!

I topped my pancakes with almond butter and drank a glass of Dandy Blend with canned coconut milk mixed in.

Question of the Day

Have you ever had your pet professionally photographed? If not, would you ever?

P.S. You still have time to enter my giveaway to win a pair of Merrell shoes from the Vendemmia collection. I’ll pick a winner this afternoon!

I am kind of out numbered, while I like the plaid I like the color pop in the red. He will look great no matter what he wears though. What a cool project and cant wait to see the finished product!

If you are going for a more “dapper” look, then the plaid one for sure! He looks gentlemanly in it!

Red with white bones! Love that one. Where did you get it?

I was inspired by your fall oatless oatmeal to try to experiment with the two-ingredient pancake. Instead of banana, I used 1/2 cup canned pumpkin and a little bit of stevia with the eggs. It didn’t really hold together, so next time I think I would use 1/4 cup pumpkin with a half or 3/4 of a banana. Worth another shot tomorrow I guess!

I like the red–huge pop of color! Good luck to him!

And that was nice of you to make Mal pancakes. Awwww :)

Probably the red or green one, if it’s going to be at Fenway. GO SOX! April’s had a few photos taken by a professional pet photographer who was shooting an event. They are some amazing pictures. Maybe we should actually do a session some day.

I’m a professional photographer, and I LOVE pet photo shoots! I’ve done all different kinds- from purebred show kittens to big labs to brook trout with the DNR- I even have a snake shoot coming up next month. :)
As part of giving back to my community, I take photos for the Humane Society to help them get their animals adopted more quickly. That’s an amazing job- but it’s a miracle I don’t come home with new dogs every time (we have two already)! :)
I love the plaid… But if you have an idea of where the photographer will be taking Murphy for the photos, maybe one of the colors will match the space better than others. I say, bring them all! Have a great time.

Murphy is so adorable! Zelda our greyhound can be a little twitching at times, so she might not be able to handle a full-blown photo shoot, but it’s a great idea. :)

I like the plaid and the red one. I have never had our pups photos done, but would LOVE to :)

I can’t decide between the red & green one.

Murphy is photogenic, but all the pics I have of my dog she’s looking away because the camera (even my phone) freaks her out, so yes, I’ve been debating getting a professional photographer for a few.
