After our paddleboarding adventures yesterday morning, Mal and I visited Bend again to explore some more. We arrived late in the afternoon and then wandered around Wall Street and Bond Street, popping into cute shops and enjoying the sights and sounds.

During our travels, we walked by an adorable wine shop and tasting bar called The Wine Shop and Tasting Bar. Good name, right?

As you know, my colon was not at all happy last week, so I’m trying to be nice to it, but being on vacation and all, I’ve been dying to enjoy a glass of wine. I mean, vacation is just not vacation without an adult beverage!

Anyway, The Wine Shop and Tasting Bar offered 2-ounce tastes of wine, so we dropped in so I could enjoy a little wine. I needed my vacation fix!

My glass of wine was a Rioja Blanco Covila from Spain. It was dry and mineral-y, which is my favorite type of wine, and I really savored it. Not joking, it took me almost an hour to finish it. Oh, how things have changed!

Once I finished my wine, we visited Deschutes Brewery, so Mal could try some of their beers.

Sadly, I did not participate in the beer tasting, but I helped Mal pick out a couple of brews to try. He really liked the Black Butte XXIV and Mirror Pond Pale Ale, but he wasn’t all that impressed with the others.

Dinner

For dinner, we visited the highly-recommended Pine Tavern. So many people suggested this place to Mal and me, we just had to check it out.

Can we talk about the outdoor seating at the Pine Tavern? Amazing, right?

And, somehow, Mal and I scored a table right on the water. Our lucky day indeed!

Handsome date.

Who is also a huge weirdo.

He pretended like he sat on a cactus. Haha! I love that he likes to make me laugh.

As an appetizer, we ordered the Coconut Prawns. I didn’t realize they were fried until they came out, so I only ate one and let Mal have the rest. They were really good, so he was more than okay with that!

For my entrée, I ordered the Chicken Marsala, which came with mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. It was absolutely outstanding, and I ate nearly the entire portion.

With our bellies full of delicious food, we watched the sunset and then headed back to the ranch.

Yesterday was an awesome day. I’m so glad I was able to spend it with my favorite person ever. I know, I’m a total cheeseball.
