I’ve done Tabata with strength training, but never knew you could do it on the treadmill, too. How cool!

Have you tried the “Food For life” breads or wraps? They are gluten-free, but still taste pretty good. I like the “China black rice” bread with olive oil, eggs, jam or whatever.

I haven’t tried the Food For Life brown rice tortillas…but they look like they’d be good for wraps or a quick pizza idea.

    Hi Tina,
Would love to know your thoughts on this very interesting post from Naomi, a certified personal trainer at One Fit Foodie:

@Samantha: I think she has a lot of great points, and she’s right about some of the people who do CrossFit. They have terrible form, don’t care about being educated, and like the idea of not being able to walk the next day because they’re so sore. But, in my experience with CF, it all depends on the individual and the box they belong to. I’ve had an amazing experience at my CF. My coaches are ON us about proper form, and we spend a portion of EVERY class practicing form before we even pick up the weights. And while our coaches want to challenge us during the workouts, they don’t want to kill us either. CrossFit gets a bad rap because of boneheads like Naomi mentions in her post, but it’s not all bad. I see SO MUCH good in it, which is why I enjoy it so much.

Great workouts! I wish the treadmills at my gym had speed buttons- it would make interval training so much easier instead of constantly pressing the arrows!

Hi Tina. I love your treadmill workouts but I struggle with changing the speed on the treadmill. By the time I push the up/down arrows to get the speed to the next interval speed the interval is almost over. Do you use a treadmill that you can program ahead of time? Any tips? Thanks!

    Reply

    Tina March 8, 2012 at 5:44 pm

@Beth: I just change them manually by typing the number on the keypad, but for the Tabata workout or the workouts with really short rest intervals, I just jump off and put my feet on the sides of the treadmill while the treadmill continues to run, and then carefully jump back on.

Thanks for those workouts – though I can never do the same spring speed as you – try as I may and as short as those intervals are. Short legs.
I’m hiding from pinterest – it seems like it’s going to be another HUGE time zap and make me more covetous than I already am! I wonder how many sites we’ll all be signed up for 20 years from now. Nuts

I teach Tabata on spin bikes—decided to try it on the treadmill-during the rest phase how do you slow down or stop completely then get back to a kick butt pace within 10 seconds? Takes time for to slow down or stop completely ( pause) then get back to 9+mph.

@Jolie: You repeat the interval 15:00 – 15:30 (run at 9.5 and then rest) 7 times.
