• Every Cloud Has a Silver Lining

    March 2, 2012

    Hi, friends.

So, things went okay with my test this morning. It was quick and mostly painless (thank goodness). My doctor confirmed it’s colitis, and, unfortunately, it’s quite a bit worse than it was last time, so he’s putting me on a new drug (I’m up to five now) and a higher dose of steroids to kick its ass. Let’s hope this more aggressive treatment does the trick. I’m sick of being sick!

Even in an unpleasant situation like one, there is always something good to be found. This time, it was free socks. I took a pair of these home with me the last time I had this procedure, and they’re surprisingly cozy and comfortable. I actually wear them around the house quite a bit.

And the best part about these socks is they have little pug paws on the bottom of them. How cute.

It’s the silver lining, people. You see it, right?

By the time I got home from my tests, it was nearly lunchtime, and I hadn’t eaten since dinner last night, so I immediately toasted a gluten-free bagel. I added peanut butter and banana slices and chowed it right down. When I’m really hungry, food just tastes so amazing. I can’t remember the last time I was that hungry.

Sad that I “won” but have never received my “prize” – also disappointed that my earlier comment about this was deleted. :(

I’m sorry you never received your box of cereal. I’ll follow-up with the folks at Quaker this morning! :)

@erika: I heard back from the Quaker folks this afternoon. Apparently, they needed to order the product from their warehouse, which took some additional time. The boxes were shipped out last Friday, so you should be receiving it soon. Sorry for the confusion!
