In the past 48 hours, Mal and I traveled to Medford, Oregon and back again. It was quite a whirlwind trip. Or should I refer to it as a “time warp”? The whole gain/lose 3 hours thing always feels so weird to me. Plus, Mal and I barely slept in the past two days, so we’re all messed up (aka exhausted) as demonstrated by this photo of Mal sleepwalking:
Today’s travels started at 4:00 AM with a quick flight from Medford to Portland. Thankfully, we had no issues getting out of Medford. Remember that hellish trip in 2009?
Breakfast
At the Portland airport, Mal and I grabbed breakfast at Starbucks. I got oatmeal to which I added nuts and sliced banana. I also ordered an iced soy latte, which I pretty much chugged in 60 seconds.
On the flight to Boston, I got some studying done.
And then read a couple of magazines.
Surprisingly, the flight home flew by, and before I knew it, we were back in Boston. Home sweet home!
Dinner
I never really ate lunch today—I ate some pretzel mix and a molasses cookie that the airline gave us on the plane—so when I got home I was absolutely famished. As soon as I walked in the door, I stuffed two handfuls of Pretzel Chips in my mouth and then made some scrambled eggs with cheese and buffalo sauce. It wasn’t the healthiest dinner, but I was starving and wanted food ASAP.
After dinner, I whipped up a mug of caramel-flavored hot cocoa made with soy milk and a big scoop of Fluff.
Mmm! I forgot how much I like hot cocoa.
Now, Mal and I are chilling on the couch in our “movie suits” and catching up with our DVR. We have an early bedtime planned tonight.
So happy to be home!!!!!
P.S. I’m not picking the winners of the giveaways until Monday morning, so you still have time to enter!

I love the feeling of lounging at home after being away, especially if a lot of that time away was spent on travel. I’m glad you made it home safe!
That is quite a whirlwind! Glad you’re home safely!
HEY! I live in Medford, Oregon! About 5 minutes from the airport to be precise! I actually spent the last 3 days back in my hometown of Portland and was on the road heading back to Meddy bright and early this morning. We have pretty much done nothing all day.

I’m with you on the hot cocoa…last night my BFF had a Christmas party complete with this absolutely RIDICULOUS hot chocolate made with chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, cream, and milk. Yeah, it was amazing! And LOVE that pic of you and Mal…too funny!
Both of those magazines are sitting on my coffee table right now…great minds must think alike!
I always wonder if the Starbucks oatmeal is any good…maybe I’ll give it a chance next time I’m out and hungry. With finals right now, I feel like I LIVE at Starbucks.
