Gorgeous Scenery

October 8, 2011

What a beautiful morning for a run. Six easy, breezy miles along Ocean Drive and Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island.

Newport is so beautiful, I need to plan a run next time I’m there. I usually stay for a night near Christmas and it gets SO cold, fall is the perfect time. I saw your call for restaurants on Twitter earlier, have you ever checked out the Brick Alley Pub? It gets nuts in there, but it’s a pretty cool place to grab stuff like sandwiches and their nachos are pretty impressive. I think they have a pretty good bar as well. Have a blast!

Tina October 8, 2011 at 10:33 am

@lauren: Oh, yes, I remember those nachos! So cheesy!!

Haha I can’t wait until the day that 6 miles is an easy run for me! Right now my furthest distances is 6 – training for a 10 miler! And that scenery is beautiful!

Love the scenery. Unfortunately, it is getting colder here in London and while out today, I saw a squirrel. It was way too quick for me to take a photo of it, however not quick enough to get away before I yelled SQUIRRELLLLL (from National Lampoon!) hehe

oh m goodness newport. what a fabulous place to be. i used to look at Salve Regina all the time when I was researching colleges…and then realized how cold and damp the winters would be…as much as i love winter…winter on the water is not my idea of a fun way to walk to class.
