Pizza Party

September 1, 2011

Good times tonight.

I’m so glad Dave and Marie live close by, so they can just drop by for dinner at last minute’s notice. Marie’s sister, Monica, and their dogs, Grady and Bella, also joined us for dinner this evening.

We started with a round of beers. I went with a Shipyard Pumpkinhead. It tasted more delicious now that it’s September.

Mal and I prepared the toppings before everyone arrived, so all we needed to do was assemble the pizzas.

Each of us took turns making our own pizzas with the toppings, but we all shared them with one another.

It was fun trying everyone’s different pizza creations.

We also had salad.

And more pizza.

We ended up cooking 5 out of the 6 doughs, so we had a lot of pizza to go around. I tried a piece from each pie. All delicious. My favorite of the bunch, however, was Dave’s double-cheese creation with peppers and pepperoni.

Thanks for the mood lighting, Mal.

A great night with great friends.

I’m off to bed. Good night!

We did a make-your-own-pizza party for my girlfriends daughters 13th birthday. All the kids had so much fun making their own pesonalized pie.

Friends who can come over in a flash are always good to have, I love having two of my closest friends a short drive away, especially when I need a hug and a cup of coffee.

That pizza party seems like such a fun idea! I’ve been tossing around the idea of doing one as a blogger meetup. Everyone could bring a few toppings, I’d provide the dough and oven.

I’m so glad you have friends nearby who can come over so easily! It’s definitely important during a time like this. Have a great Friday!

Love make it yourself themed dinner parties! We had a make your own calzone dinner weekend [the first time my momma and her friend ever had eaten one] and it was a hit! Everyone had a blast choosing their fixin’s, stuffing it, and seeing the finished product! Best part, they tasted as good as they looked [always worry about a new recipe]!
