Last night was ridiculously fun. The five of us sat around all night, played card games, and laughed a lot.
There was also some drinking.
Eating.
Doggie shenanigans.
And people shenanigans that took place.
Not surprisingly, the house was pretty quiet this morning, which meant it was the perfect time for me to get some blogging done and catch up on emails. I love the quiet hours of the morning. I’m always a zillion times more productive then.
Murphy heard me wake up, so he got out of bed and wanted breakfast. Once he was finished eating, I took him on a walk. It was so peaceful outside this morning.
When I returned, I made myself breakfast: cinnamon raisin toast with peanut butter and banana on top and an iced coffee with soy milk.
I’m not sure what’s on the agenda for today, but our friends Erin and Mike (and Ping) are coming to visit.
CNC at HLS
If you haven’t had a chance to buy my book yet, Barnes & Noble will be selling it at the Healthy Living Summit on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. I will also be available to sign copies during the breaks and lunch and pretty much all weekend long– just stop me if you see me!
I’m getting so excited for HLS! A BIG thank you to our gold sponsor, Quaker, for their support! We Meghann couldn’t have done it without them!

LOL Mal’s expression is priceless in that photo!! Looks like a nice relaxing night. I wish I was coming to HLS this year but I have another fitness conference this weekend. Hopefully I’ll get to the 2012 one!
I love the calm and stillness of early mornings.
I love Cape Cod early in the morning, before it really wakes up. Looks like you had a peaceful and productive start to your day.
Great photos! I love a peaceful quiet morning too, it helps me focus on the day
such a nice vaca for you and the fam. i like that house!
Looks like a wonderful morning – and finally no more rain!
I love peaceful mornings – like today, my husband is still sleeping so I am enjoying my quiet breakfast.
Enjoy the rest of your day
Oh goodness, I feel like when I’m alone in the morning I’m a completely different person than later in the day. I can normally knock out about 3 important tasks on Saturday mornings before my beau even hits his first snooze button. Alas, he’s a night owl, so while I struggle to keep my eyes open after 10, he could write a novella.
Playing cards and board games with friends always makes me so happy
I love good ole card and board games
And pups
What a fun night!
I love the quiet hours of the morning as well. They are the BEST time of day–to be alone and sort yourself out before you have to face the day.
HAHA! That picture of Mal making the goofy face made me smile.
Have a great day, Tina!
I love vacation nights like that!
That path looks perfect for a nice walk or jog. Now you have me itching to get to the Cape!
I love the flowers photo and playing cards always makes for a good time especially when some beverages are consumed
Hope its sunny for you today!
Looks like such a fun night!
I love the picture of you holding Murphy! He has such a silly expression on his face!
This totally looks like my kind of vacation. I love it. My friend has a cape house and we often go up there and have many nights just like this
Sounds like the perfect morning! I am much more productive on quiet mornings as well!
Enjoy your day!
Such beautiful photos! I love it!
You know, I might be at the Ikea in Philly this weekend… I could just drag my husband over to the summit for an hour or two. Is it open access or did you have to register ahead of time? I will check the website too but I thought maybe you would know. Have a good relaxing day today!

Nevermind! Just read it through. Really wish I had known about it months ago!!!
@Angela @ The Chicken Scoop: Next year!!
I love quite mornings like that too. I am so much more productive considering every time I take out the laptop to blog Adam thinks it is time to talk to me and I can never concentrate on either thing. Looks like a fun night!
Mornings are my favorite time too, they are so peaceful and I’m by far more productive. There’s something I love about being up before the rest of the world and getting a start on my day!
mornings= super productive
evenings= spend 5 hours online shopping, browsing recipes.. basically never get anything useful done in the evening!
I hear ya on the quiet mornings! I’m always the first one up on vacations.
What a gorgeous setting — I feel relaxed just looking at it..bliss.
I’m totally right there with you on the love of early mornings. It’s so peaceful, and knowing that it’s a brand new day with hours of the day left is such a refreshing feeling!
I LOVE playing games at night with the fam, SO fun.
My most productive time is at night, actually!
There is nothing more beautiful and relaxing than the Cape in the Summer!
I love that pic of the path in the woods.. looks so quaint and so perfectly summertime morning, you know? Very calming.
I totally took advantage of the big online paperback sale at Barnes & Noble yesterday and ordered your book! I am anxiously awaiting its arrival.
@Traci: Yay!! Hope you love it!
I love the picture of you and Murphy! It looks like you guys are having a blast!! Enjoy the rest of your vacation
What a wonderful vacation. It looks like fun! One of my favorite things to do is sit around a table and play games with friends and family…food and drink make it that much better.
Just got your book in the mail last week!!! Can’t wait to actually meet you
@CJ @ http://healthy-happy-whole.com/: Wahoo! Enjoy! Excited to meet you!
Looks like some good vacation activities! And I’ve already got my book and it’s in my “HLS pile.”…can’t wait to see you there!
@Hilary: Yay!! Can’t wait!
I’m always the first one awake on vacations too. It’s nice to have some time to yourself before everyone else gets up!
I love evenings that are simple and fun without even leaving the house.
Card games are the best! I’m kinda addicted to them… But in the good way surrounded by family and friends.
I lovelovelove the serene-ness of the morning!! I also love your husband’s facial expressions!! He reminds me of my husband and all his funny expressions.
I love a fun game night! I just had a quiet one with my hubby on Sunday night. Scrabble & Scattergories!
I love calm, quiet mornings.
I so wish I could make it to the Healthy Living Summit this year! Usually it’s tough for me to get weekends off, but I’m actually off this weekend! Too late now though.
Maybe next year!
@Alaina: Def next year!!
I’m totes a morning person too- always get so much more done in the hours! Whenever I’m able to complete my to-do’s before lunch, I feel so productive! In the afternoon and evening, all I want to do is kick back and relax…
I’m glad to hear Quaker played a big role in sponsoring the Summit!
It’s good to know that the blogosphere’s obsession with oatmeal hasn’t gone unnoticed by companies
I LOVE a family fun night like that. Ours usually involves some Apples to Apples…have you played that game? Super funny!
