Yesterday was such a whirlwind, but a fun whirlwind! After attending the Saratoga Brewfest, a friends’ wedding was next on our agenda.
The church were the ceremony was held was only about 15 minutes away from the brewfest, so Mal and I changed into our nice clothes in the parking lot and drove straight there. (We’re classy like that.)
Our friends Blain and Jaime got married at a beautiful Catholic church.
The bride was absolutely stunning! Jaime’s grandfather walked her down the aisle.
Vows.
Just married!!!
The reception had movie theme to it! So fun!
During the cocktail hour, I munched on a ton of appetizers. I was starving!
After drinking beer all afternoon, I decided not to drink at the reception. I just wasn’t feeling the booze. (I know, I’m as surprised as you are!)
Even still, Mal and I had a blast at the wedding!
Mr & Mrs!
For dinner, we enjoyed a Farm & City Salad, which was made with baby field greens, sharp cheddar cheese, walnuts, Granny Smith apple slices, and a honey Dijon vinaigrette. I definitely want to recreate this salad at home.
For my entrée, I had the Sirloin Steak, which was served with horseradish mashed potatoes and asparagus. I also ate a piece of wedding cake, but I never snapped a photo of it. It was marble cake with strawberry filing, buttercream frosting, and it was totally to die for!
With the happy couple!
I’m so glad we were able to celebrate Blain and Jaime’s big day with them. They’re the best!!

yay movie theme weddings! no surprise, i had one – except mine was in a movie theater (and we got married to a film)
Which film, Lynn?? That’s awesome!
@Tiffany: it was a bunch of wedding scenes from movies that we edited – everything from “muppets take manhattan” to “the princess bride.” then, for the “ceremony” we had charlie chaplin “marry” us using title cards.
@Lynn–how clever and fun!! I wish I had thought of such a unique ceremony for myself.
How long have you two been married now?
@Tiffany: that’s so sweet and personal – and the Princess Bride is just perfection.
I love weddings! And wedding food…
I also LOVE your dress!! I’ve been really into black&white lately!
@Lauri (Redheadrecipes.com): that’s funny I was going to comment on Tina’s cute dress! Looks like the perfect wedding wear
Black and white works for everything – classy and sexy!
We are uber-classy too. The car is far too often my changing room…

and the choc fountain (best invention ever.)
Did she have 2 dresses or did she take off the sleeves for the reception?Love it!
wow that worked perfectly with the brewfest and wedding being the same weekend. Weddings are so fun, looks like a really great weekend you had.
Beautiful church, beautiful bride, and awesome food! I love weddings. The movie theme is so cute
Congratulations Blain and Jaime!! Wishing you a lifetime of love!
If you’re going to do sleeves, capped sleeves are the way to go. Unless you’re Kate Middleton. Then you can do a turtle neck and still look gorgeous!
I love weddings! Everything is so beautiful and everyone is happy. =) They seriously are the best celebrations! Congratulations to the happy couple.
I heart weddings–especially when the couple are good friends!

What a beautiful wedding! That church looks so impressive and what a neat theme for the reception. I’ve heard of some pretty “out-there” wedding themes, but this one sounds really fun!
I love weddings! They always fill people with such joy…. and, of course, an excuse to dance like a fool.
It looks like you guys had a great time!

Beautiful celebration, and the food looks SOOOO mouthwatering! Too bad it’s only breakfast time here…. Alas, I’ll have to save the steak and asparagus for later.
I love the movie theme
Looks like a lot of fun…and food looks way better than typical “wedding food.”
Love when Upstate New York gets some loving… I live about 3 hrs from Saratoga, but normally when you tell anyone you live in New York..they automatically assume NYC. Upstate New York is a beautiful place to live!
