Marathon Roadmap Giveaway

May 2, 2011

Obviously, I have marathon on the brain, so I thought today would be the perfect time to host a giveaway to win a copy of No Meat Athlete’s e-book Marathon Roadmap: The Vegetarian Guide to Conquering Your First 26.2!!

3DCover

Matt Frazier is the blogger behind No Meat Athlete. He ran his first marathon in 2002, finishing in 4:52. Seven years later, six months after becoming vegetarian, he qualified for Boston with a time of 3:09:59 at the Wineglass Marathon. In June 2010, Matt ran his first 50-mile ultra-marathon, in 10.5 hours. Pretty amazing, huh?

With first-time marathoners in mind, Matt used his own running experience to write a realistic and readable e-book. Marathon Roadmap covers all of the bases with regard to training and gives you a ‘roadmap’ for completing 26.2 miles. While it’s a “vegetarian guide,” you don’t need to be a vegetarian to benefit from the information inside.

What I liked most about this book is that it makes running a marathon seem do-able. You don’t need to be a super-athlete to do it! Matt keeps things simple, so you don’t have to worry about all of those extra details that can make running a marathon overwhelming. Matt gives a great overview and explanation of his e-book on his blog, so be sure to check it out. It really has everything you need to run your first marathon!

Here’s your chance to win a copy of Marathon Roadmap: The Vegetarian Guide to Conquering Your First 26.2, which includes four hours of audio interviews with some amazing vegetarian athletes!

To enter: Just leave a comment on this post about why you want to win Matt’s e-book. Earn an extra entry by tweeting about this giveaway— just make sure to leave a second comment with your tweet in it. I’ll randomly pick a winner tomorrow afternoon.

Good luck!

I’d love to win this book! I’ve been vegetarian for almost a year now and I just completed my 5th half marathon this past weekend. Running a full marathon is one of my life goals that I hope to accomplish within the next year. I’d love to read all of Matt’s running and eating tips to get me going on reaching my goal!

I am trying to find the courage and motivation to really go for that marathon..but right now at just achieving a 5k, running a marathon seems so far away. I think this book would really help motivate me.

I would like to win because I’m committed to qualifying for the Boston marathon in the next couple years (only 28 minutes to drop from my current time!) and as I get closer to my BQ time I know it’s going to be harder and harder to improve without external guidance.

I am the perfect candidate for this book for a few reasons….

1. I have just recently started a health and fitness blog with my two sisters. We each talk about our lifestyles and how we manage to fit exercise, fitness and fun in our days. I would blog about the lessons I learn from this book giving it publicity

2. I am a marathon runner and I am working towards running a marathon in each state. So I could use a book with recipes and guidance to remind me throughout the years all of the tips and recipes I may forget.

3. And lastly, this book is perfect for me because I am a proud vegetarian and I have been one for over fourteen years. I could use some fresh tips and guidance to mix up old habits.

For all these reasons i think I should be the winner :)
Thanks!

I’ve just recently become a no-meat gal for health reasons and I’ve wondered how it would affect my running. I always felt “meat” was so important to my fitness level, but overall “health” seems to be winning out. I’d love to read what he has to say and get inspired (read: happy) about my new road!

Thanks!

I have been a veg for over six years and ran xc in college and high school and would always end up with some sort of injury. I am ready to train for a long distance event by doing it in a healthy way and looking forward to getting in a solid workout(instead of dreading those 5am practices in college) and most importantly without getting hurt. In addition to enjoying every second of the training and looking forward to finishing my first marathon!
