Hooray for blog conferences!
The Sears Social kicked off the evening. The event was a chance to mix and mingle with other bloggers and enjoy a cocktail and some passed apps.
Roommate love: Beth, Theodora, and Courtney.
Blogger love: Theodora, Gabriela, and Gracie.
Tina X 2! Tina is just as sweet in person as she is on her blog!
Our fearless leader: Roni! I still can’t believe she planned this whole conference and just had a baby! Clearly, she is super woman. Love her.
After the Sears Social, a group of us headed to Mo’s Seafood for dinner.
Initially, Mo’s seemed like the perfect place for dinner: it received greats reviews, served crab cakes, and could accommodate 12 people for dinner. It all sounded great, but things quickly went down hill.
For dinner, I ordered the crab cakes, which cost $21.99. I thought for that price, they were going to knock my socks off. Well, they didn’t. At all. They were actually the worst crab cakes I’ve ever eaten. Size-wise, they were huge, but they barely had any crab meat in them. They also had tons of shell pieces in them! Ugh! The crunchy bites grossed me out. Ick. Worst crab cakes ever.
I did, however, enjoy the dinner rolls, which were served warm, and the steamed veggies, so it wasn’t all bad.
Day 2 of Fitbloggin’ is packed full! My session is at 2:30 PM. GAH! Wish me luck!!

Aah I’ve read so many posts about FitBloggin’ – looks so fun! I wish I was there..Le sigh.
Have a great day!
@Freya: Oh, and good luck!
AND your book arrived today!! It’s AWESOME!
@Freya: Wahoo! I hope you enjoy it!
Too bad about the crab cakes!
Good luck at your session! I’m sure you’ll do great.
Those crab cakes were such a bummer….BOOOOO.
But YAY for being in good company
You are going to rock it, Tina! Can’t wait for your seminar this afternoon. I’ll be rooting you on from the (sure to be huge) crowd!
@Karla: Large crowd!? GAH!
What a disappointing meal. If the messed up the rolls and veggies that would be really bad. Because that is to super easy things to make.
Fitbloggin’ sounds like SO much fun! You look so happy, Tina and your dress is so pretty!
I actually liked my crab cake.. but I guess I didn’t get any crunchy shells in mine? And I guess I’m not used to the “Good” East coast crab cakes. Still, the restaurant definitely failed overall :/ Oh well, the company was great!
You will do great this afternoon, looking forward to your talk!!
That’s a shame about your meal. Did you get a refund?
I’m going to be saying this a lot today with all the recaps being published – Fitbloggin’ looks like so much fuN!
@Hats @ See How She Runs: I didn’t, but maybe I should have asked for one. The service wasn’t great either.
Loving all the fitbloggin’ updates! I hope you actually enjoy your time speaking today. Keep in mind what an amazing opportunity you’ve been given! Excited to hear about the rest of the weekend as well!
Too bad about the crab cakes
Everything else looks fun! Enjoy the weekend!
Ugh. I hate bready, gross, crabcakes! Good luck!!!
Looks like fun! I’m sorry your crab cakes weren’t too good. If you want awesome crab cakes with almost no filler, I recommend G and M. Its a little bit of a drive out of Baltimore, though.
EEE! I wish I could go to Fitbloggin!!! Enjoy, I’m so glad to have stumbled on your blog!
you just work that room girl!
What a bummer about the crab cakes!
I love all the FitBloggin’ posts! It sounds so fun, and everyone looks amazing. The crab cakes don’t sound too good, but at least the veggies and rolls were good!
I hate finding shells in crab cakes! It stinks Mo’s was such a bummer.
Great meeting you! In your presentation right now and you’re doing GREAT!
Hey Tina,
I live in Baltimore, so if you guys need a restaurant suggestion, let me know! There are tons of amazing restaurants minutes from the conference center and you shouldn’t have to suffer through shell-ridden crab cakes!!
With Love,
Sarah
go to g&m’s best maryland crab cakes!
Oh yikes, that IS an expensive plate! But those rolls and veggies look super yumm. Good luck!!
your dress is so fun! I’m sorry about that dinner, thats so expensive to only enjoy the dinner rolls hah! Hopefully there is plenty of delicious food throughout the rest of the weekend to make up for it.
Bummer about the crab cakes!
But the rest of your day sounds amazing. Meeting/remeeting all those bloggers must be so fun!
The food looks so good. That looks like Anne from fannetastic food with you in the lobby. Hope you all had a great time. Are these events helpful with your blogging like seminars or is it all social. What ever you do it looks like you are all having fun and that’s what it is all about.
Good luck! I’m so envious – there are/have been no food blogger conferences in Australia
ahhh I love seeing all of you beautiful ladies together! it’s so strange but fun
Wishing I was at Fitbloggin after reading all these posts! Looks like you all had a great time
