Lazy Saturday

April 23, 2011

Lazy Saturday? Yep, I have that down to a science.

The rainy, blah weather motivated me to accomplish absolutely nothing today. Ok, I did a little work, but, really, I was such a waste of space. I even blew off my 10-mile run with my team this morning. Wicked lame, right? Yea, I feel bad about that. Sorry, Nick and Elizabeth. Please don’t kick me off of the team!

Breakfast

I slept until 9:30 this morning, which is some sort of record for me, so when I finally got out of bed, my stomach was growling like crazy. It’s used to eating at 7:00 AM!

For breakfast, Mal whipped up a couple of egg and cheese sandwiches for us. I had mine on a toasted poppy seed Bagel Thin with an iced coffee on the side.

IMG_0012 (480x640)

After breakfast, I spent the rest of the morning catching up with emails and other work since I’m still a little behind after my trip to Las Vegas last week.

Lunch

For lunch, I enjoyed Oats In A Jar. In the mix: oats, soy milk, banana slices, walnuts, chia seeds, and a little extra peanut butter.

IMG_0014 (640x480)

While I ate, Murphy watched closely. He knows that I’ll give him the rest of the peanut butter jar once I am finished eating. A pug never forgets things like this.

I guess I took my sweet time eating because Murphy started to give me a few dirty looks. He’s so impatient sometimes. He must get that from me.

IMG_0015 (640x480)

Eventually, Murphy’s persistence paid off.

IMG_0021 (640x480)

IMG_0017 (640x480)

At one point, Murphy backed the jar into a corner for better peanut butter licking.

IMG_0027 (640x480)

He’s so smart. He must get that from me his dad.

IMG_0026 (640x480)

Murphy went to town on the peanut butter jar, so Mal and I stood by and laughed (at him).

IMG_0029 (640x480)

A few hours later, Mal brought home a new bag of dog food.

IMG_0001 (640x480)

Murphy was PSYCHED!!! Look at those crazy pug eyes!

IMG_0002 (480x640)

He’s so food obsessed! He definitely gets that from me!

IMG_0004 (640x480)

Dinner

I wasn’t in the mood to make anything elaborate for dinner tonight (and our kitchen was in shambles because Mal was fixing our sink), so I threw a frozen Barbeque Chicken pizza from Whole Foods in the oven. Quick and simple.

The pizza tasted pretty good, but, for the price ($5), I’m not sure I’d buy it again. (There was a coupon in The Whole Deal for $1 off, so I gave it a try this time.)

IMG_0011 (640x480)

With the pizza, I added a big arugula salad topped with flax oil and balsamic vinegar.

IMG_0014 (640x480)

I also ate a bunch of Chocolate Sunflower Butter Cookies over the course of the day. There’s actually only ONE left now! I should probably just finish it off, right?

I hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday night. I’m off to continue my laziness. I haven’t even showered yet today.

Sounds like a perfect Saturday for shitty weather! Sleeping in, frozen pizza and overall irresponsibility :-) Love those days.

Sometimes you just have to be lazy on Saturdays. Murphy is quite gifted with that pb lickin’! Oats for lunch… good call. Oats anytime really!

What an interesting name for dog food! Ha!

My in-laws pugs are right at your feet if you are in the kitchen; they will eat anything and everything!

Lazy Saturdays are great! I kind of wish today was lazy haha.

And we feed my dog the canned version of that food! We put it on top Blue Buffalo dry food. It’s such good food!

My rainy Saturday was equally lazy. The only thing that got me to the gym was realizing that I hadn’t moved in 6 hours!!

Omg Murphy is just too funny. It’s like my cat around raw fish/meat.

Other than running 17 miles we’ve had a really lazy day today too. It felt good to lay around and eat food :)

Getting a run in, especially 17 miles, totally justifies doing zilch the rest of the day! :)

I think the weather has a lot to do with the laziness. It’s been raining and dreary all day here and I’ve been quite unproductive all day.

K let’s talk lazy- I DROVE to a yoga class tonight and didn’t feel like going in, so I DROVE home. How lazy is that? I felt bad too- but there I will make up for it tomorrow. It was hatha yoga too… not even power yoga! Yikes.

Have a great evening…

Haha, before I discovered OIAJ my sister used to hand me an almost empty PB jar and laugh while she watched me scrape it clean. She even bought me a spoon that is designed to scrape jars!

Lazy Saturdays are the best. After a late night on fri, all I did was lie on my bed yday! The best part is that there’s still Sunday left to get things done!

Hahaha! We’d NEVER kick you off the team. I completely wiped out on D Street (on a slippery grate thing) and ran the next 7 miles covered in dirt. Very attractive. Hope you enjoyed your lazy Saturday– you’ve got to take those when you can get ‘em! :)

I love a good lazy Saturday with my husband. However he does not sit around to well so these do not happen very often, but are always better when they do!
