Lazy Saturday? Yep, I have that down to a science.
The rainy, blah weather motivated me to accomplish absolutely nothing today. Ok, I did a little work, but, really, I was such a waste of space. I even blew off my 10-mile run with my team this morning. Wicked lame, right? Yea, I feel bad about that. Sorry, Nick and Elizabeth. Please don’t kick me off of the team!
Breakfast
I slept until 9:30 this morning, which is some sort of record for me, so when I finally got out of bed, my stomach was growling like crazy. It’s used to eating at 7:00 AM!
For breakfast, Mal whipped up a couple of egg and cheese sandwiches for us. I had mine on a toasted poppy seed Bagel Thin with an iced coffee on the side.
After breakfast, I spent the rest of the morning catching up with emails and other work since I’m still a little behind after my trip to Las Vegas last week.
Lunch
For lunch, I enjoyed Oats In A Jar. In the mix: oats, soy milk, banana slices, walnuts, chia seeds, and a little extra peanut butter.
While I ate, Murphy watched closely. He knows that I’ll give him the rest of the peanut butter jar once I am finished eating. A pug never forgets things like this.
I guess I took my sweet time eating because Murphy started to give me a few dirty looks. He’s so impatient sometimes. He must get that from me.
Eventually, Murphy’s persistence paid off.
At one point, Murphy backed the jar into a corner for better peanut butter licking.
He’s so smart. He must get that from me his dad.
Murphy went to town on the peanut butter jar, so Mal and I stood by and laughed (at him).
A few hours later, Mal brought home a new bag of dog food.
Murphy was PSYCHED!!! Look at those crazy pug eyes!
He’s so food obsessed! He definitely gets that from me!
Dinner
I wasn’t in the mood to make anything elaborate for dinner tonight (and our kitchen was in shambles because Mal was fixing our sink), so I threw a frozen Barbeque Chicken pizza from Whole Foods in the oven. Quick and simple.
The pizza tasted pretty good, but, for the price ($5), I’m not sure I’d buy it again. (There was a coupon in The Whole Deal for $1 off, so I gave it a try this time.)
With the pizza, I added a big arugula salad topped with flax oil and balsamic vinegar.
I also ate a bunch of Chocolate Sunflower Butter Cookies over the course of the day. There’s actually only ONE left now! I should probably just finish it off, right?
I hope you’re having a wonderful Saturday night. I’m off to continue my laziness. I haven’t even showered yet today.
