Shop & Stop

December 15, 2010

Mal and I are the worst holiday shoppers ever. Tonight, we set out to finished our Christmas shopping, but neither of us were in the mood to do it. So, we visited two stores, purchased one gift, and called it quits for the night.

Instead, we thought that drinking beers at the Rustic Kitchen was a better way to spend our time. Wahoo! Happy Hour!

So, that’s exactly what we did. We each grabbed a seat at the bar and ordered a couple of beers. Mal went with an IPA and I had a Harpoon Winter Warmer. I love its spiciness!

While sitting at the bar, we snacked on some potato chips.

Mal and I were having such a great time, we decided to stay for another round of beers (and more chips).

At this point, we had spoiled our dinner, so we decided to share an appetizer, which came with sourdough bread and a white bean dipping sauce.

We split the Tuna Tartar, which was mixed with a spicy chili sauce, avocado, red onions, and black pepper crackers. It was awesome—so fresh, so flavorful. We devoured it.

Mal just grabbed wood for the fire, so I’m going to relax on the couch with him and the pug.

Enjoy the evening! 8-)

P.S. This video totally made my night! (Make sure you watch it with sound!)

I love Christmas shopping but I’m so picky that it takes me up until the last few days before Christmas to buy everything. This needs to change. I mean, I don’t need to buy everyone the perfect present every single year right?

I love this! This is something me and my hubby would totally do! Ditch the shopping and let’s have happy hour! ;)
And I love the way you guys share apps, we always do that, it makes us feel like we eat more of a variety of foods while saving money at the same time!

Christmas shopping is exhausting. Sounds like you had much more fun!

I think this post is talking about my husband and me. It describes us to a T. I even read it to him just now and we had a laugh! Enjoy your night on the couch with the pug and Mal!

I hate shopping when I’m not in the mood to shop! (which is almost never!)

That tuna tartar looks so good! Billy and I have serious troubles when it comes to shopping. We seem to wander aimlessly around the store and then throw in the towel…he ends up ordering things online and I bake or make my gifts.

Ha! This totally happened to my hubby and me a week ago…we left the Mall after an hour and went to a wine store and polished off an entire bottle!

I love Rustic Kitchen – try the spinach salad next time. OUT OF THIS WORLD.

Shopping at Derby street always makes me not want to shop either. It’s always so busy and you have to fight for a parking spot. Ick.

Reply

I feel the same about Christmas shopping this year, I would much rather have some drinks and appetizers at the bar than set foot in a store!

Reply

Abandoning Christmas shopping to go to a bar and have some beer sounds perfect to me! The presentation of that appetizer is exquisite!
