Vermont Is Glorious

July 17, 2010

Good morning! I love waking up in Vermont!

I just got back from a glorious 5.85-mile run through the Lake Champlain Bikeways, which run throughout the Lake Champlain Valley. Rumor has it there’s 1,300+ miles of bike paths!

Check out the sign that I saw on my run!

Breakfast

Within minutes of finishing my run, Mal and Dave arrived home with bagels and iced coffee! Yes!!! Best husbands ever! :-D

My hubby ordered me a Roasted Red Pepper-Asiago bagel with roasted red pepper and jalapeño cream cheese. Holy yum!

It was a glorious breakfast! :-D

Friday Night

After getting settled in Burlington, we headed to our friends’ house in Ferrisburgh, Vermont. On the ride, we stopped at Quiznos. To save time, Dave and I took orders and ran inside get dinner for everyone.

IMG_0005.JPG

Mal, Marie, and the dogs waited in the car.

IMG_0006.JPG

Murphy throughly enjoyed the 30-minute ride to Farrisburg. He loved all of the sights, sounds, and smells. Murphy is definitely more of a country dog than a city dog!

Our friends’ house in Ferrisburgh is AMAZING!! The house itself is beautiful and the yard is exactly what I want some day. Basically, Mal and I want to move in with them! ;-)

IMG_0036.JPG

My flatbread “Sammie” from Quiznos was actually pretty good. Better than I thought it would be!

IMG_0043.JPG

I also snacked on a couple of chocolate chips cookies and cheese + crackers over the course of the night.

IMG_0045.JPG

And a local beer! :-D

IMG_0048.JPG

I didn’t end up taking too many photos last night, but I had a really nice time with our friends.

IMG_0050.JPG

There were a lot of drinking games going on last night, but I didn’t participate. I’m not going to lie, I really wanted to play Flip Cup, but I kept my boozing to a minimum. There’s quite a bit of beer drinking on the agenda for today, so I tried to balance it out! ;-)

See ya! 8-)

I <3 VT!!! So glad you're enjoying your time in VT! I used to live in Burlington and you have to go to this amazing restaurant called Magnolias (next to Flatbread on Saint Paul Street). They have the best breakfast and lunch plates, and the best part is that they use all locally grown ingredients! I live in Seattle now, but am always having cravings for their apple, maple sausage, and cheese omelette!
