Tastes So Good

July 25, 2010

Breakfast tasted so good this morning!

You know when you’re really hungry and you finally get to eat and the food just tastes so good? I had one of those breakfasts this morning. I went to Body Pump and worked really hard, so, by the time I got home, I was starving. I threw together a quick breakfast and it tasted so delicious. Every single bite.

I had a sliced peach.

And two pieces of toasted Fig, Fennel, and Flax Manna Bread (one not pictured) with Teddie Peanut Butter spread on top and a bunch of cherry semolina crackers. (Some crackers went straight into my mouth and never made it onto the plate!)

I also had an iced coffee mixed with chocolate almond milk and chocolate protein powder.

Breakfast tasted so good.

Mal and I are off to run lots of errands.

What a beautiful Sunday! Enjoy the day! 8-)

I SO know that feeling. Unfortunately I just want all the food in my stomach as quickly as possible. So there isn’t too much of savoring the taste.

That bread looks amazing (fig + anything = yes please). I’m always my most ravenous in the morning, so I definitely relate to the urge to get breakfast stat.

I’ve never thought to do protein powder in my coffee after a workout! What a great idea, i’ll have to give it a whirl! Does it dissolve alright, or does it leave a “chalky” texture….?

Is the fig bread sweet or not? I have the raisin carrot Manna bread right now and it’s really good but not sweet at all.

That is always the best feeling. When food tastes so delicious. I experience that every day for breakfast since I wake up starving.

Enjoying good food is one of the highlights of life. Savouring every bite. So much better than rushing though nasty food because you have to eat it.

Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! I’d love to have breakfast food for every meal. ;)
It is very important to eat the food you enjoy rather than what someone dictates you must eat.

@Janna @ Janna’s Keeping it Real: I used a shaker first and then poured the protein + iced coffee + soy milk over ice. It mixed right in.

I need to get my hands on some of this manna bread. And body pump definitely works up an appetite!

Fig, fennel and flax bread sounds amazing. Manna bread’s a little beyond my budget these days, but methinks a homemade version might be in order.
I think the hunger we build while working out or even overnight can make the simplest foods taste amazing. I’ve had apples that have brought me close to ecstasy because they tasted just right after a Bikram class or run!

I love my first meal after a good workout — and I do try to savor the flavor, but I too (along with other readers it looks like) tend to just shovel it in and not enjoy it as much. I love your coffee/milk/protein powder mixture and will have to try that sometime!
