Snack Attack

July 22, 2010

Man, I forgot how tiring it is to run 7 miles. I’m pooped.

My run went pretty well this afternoon: I felt good, I had no hip pain, and I kept my pace around 9:30 per mile. It actually went better than expected! ;-) I’m psyched that I successfully tackled 7 miles, but now I’m so ready for bed.

Dinner

Tonight, I never really ate a “real” dinner, but I definitely consumed enough food over the course of the evening to count for dinner (and lunch)!

I started with leftover Pasta Carbonara Light.

Then, I munched on a couple of Coconut Curry Livin’ Spoonful crackers and a bunch of pitted dates.

And I finished off the night with three (yes, 3!) bowls of Raisin Bran with soy milk. Cereal is good.

(A handful of Cheez-Its also went undocumented.)

Now, with a full belly, I’m heading straight to bed. Goooood night! :-D

I am the worst with raisin bran. Actually I never have it except when I travel (I swear it’s at every continental breakfast) and I always have endless bowls!! So good ;-)

Yay! Congrats on your successful run!

After a longer run, I have trouble sitting down and eating a full meal but re-fuel like you did; I think it’s so important to give your body what it wants after it gave YOU what you want – a 7 miler!

Woohoo on the run, I’m off to run 9 in the AM myself. :)

Seriously, I feel like I cannot eat cereal at night without it turning into at least 2 bowls!

Are you still doing treatment for your hip, at the clinic you were going to?

Congrats on the 7 miles! I rarely eat just one bowl of cereal. If there’s leftover milk in the bowl, I add more cereal. It can become a vicious cycle if I’m not careful! :)

I laughed out loud at the cereal bowls comment. I find, especially when eating it for dinner, I could eat endless amounts of it. It’s dangerous but oh so good! :) Congrats on your pain-free run!

Being in a wheelchair I obviously cant “run” a 7 miler but I’ve started doing a seated “run” by moving my arms to do the motion, loads of twisting involved & I did 10 minutes of that today & boy, it’s tough, running is not easy

Tina July 23, 2010 at 6:05 am

@Marilou @ Mostly Healthy: No, it’s too expensive. :(

This might sound silly, but thank you for posting that you ate THREE bowls of cereal. I sometimes do the same, and I feel guilty for it almost like it’s not allowed, even if I’ve had a grueling workout.
