Morning Person

July 29, 2010

I’m a morning person. As soon as I wake up, I think “carpe diem.” Seriously, this is the first thought that runs through my head 95% of mornings. If you’re not a morning person and you’d rather go back to bed like Murphy, you probably think I’m crazy. (Maybe I am?) But the thought of seizing the day (and, of course, breakfast) gets me right out of bed nearly every morning.

Breakfast

I enjoyed an amazing breakfast this morning thanks to Angela’s Healthy Carrot Cake Power Scuffins. Mmm! I’m now convinced it’s impossible to eat just one since I ended up eating two again. Damn, they are good! I also had an iced coffee with soy milk. Perfect breakfast.

Question of the Day

Are you a morning person? What’s the first thought that runs through your head when you wake up?

I used to be, then I went for a year student exchange to the US where it seems eery college student is late-to-bed-late-to-rise, so I gradually became the same because I simply couldn’t sleep when all my suitemates were up and being noisy!

I’ve just started my PhD and being a TA, though, so I have to get up earlier. Plus I get up early to go to the farmers’ market, so hopefully I’ll soon be Carpe Diem like you!

So not a morning person. I lay in bed for a good 15 minutes after my alarm goes off just trying to wake up.

I’m more of a morning than a night person. I’d rather get something productive done in the morning–like working out–than wait to do it later cause I’m pretty tired in the evening. ;)

The scuffins are indeed amazing.

I am a morning person, all the way! I’m sure I can be really annoying at times to people who aren’t morning people though. ;)

aka not a morning person.

I’m definitely a morning person, I love my first coffee/tea and making breakfast, getting ready for the day. Sometimes though if I’m in a bad mood the night before, that carries over into the next day and I spend the morning thinking through those thoughts while I get ready for work. Other times I feel great!! :)

I am making myself into a morning person! It’s too hot to workout in the afternoon so I’ve been waking up at 5 to get out for a run and to walk the pup. It is lovely!

I’m a morning person. The first thought in my head used to be “time to let the dog out and give her breakfast.” This morning the first thought was “my girl is gone.” I had her put to sleep on Tuesday.

I am definitely NOT a morning person. The first thing I think is “Ugh, 5 more minutes!” On the other hand, I’m like a little kid when it comes to sleep. I never want to go to bed.

I love that part right where you wake up and nothing is your mind.

But then, I wake up and then about what I’m going to do at the gym:)

I didn´t used to be a morning person, but now I can´t stand sleeping past 8-ish. There is so much to get up and do!

Although I am a morning person, it isn´t to the point that I can remember my first thought… it´s probably something along the lines of “What´s for breakfast, again?”

I am NOT a morning person- at least not during the week when I have to get up for the gym or work. On weekends I always find myself waking up much earlier than I want. My first thought is always “5 more minutes!”

I am definately a morning person. Why sleep the day away?? First up exercise, then coffee and some oats.

Not a morning person at all, but living with someone that is. I’m happier I’m slowly becoming one, but getting up early on a Sat is before 9 now.

I am definitely a morning person so I hear you. Sometimes I get annoyed that I can’t sleep late, even if I stayed up late the night before, but most of the time I am happy that I am so productive in the mornings!

I am a morning person, too! I am always thinking, “Coffee, coffee,” and as soon as that’s over, I think, “Oatmeal, oatmeal.” Then, I’m truly ready get things in order.

I really love watching Regis & Kelly while I complete this little routine, followed by a workout and/or shower.

I’m a total morning person, but my first thought is always “I have to pee”. Nothing motivates me more to get out of bed than the desire to not wet it.

Most of the time I’m a morning person. I like to get up pretty much as soon as I’m awake but sometimes a little lie-in and laziness is necessary!! It always takes me about an hour to fully wake up and start functioning though!!

I’m by far a morning person. I used to always want to call myself a “night owl” cause I thought it was cool..but nope. I’m perfectyl fine with going to bed early and waking up before dawn to get in a good workout, do house work, computer work..whatever it is. It’s an awesome feeling when you realize you’ve done so much before most people are even awake.

Maria @ Oh Healthy Day July 29, 2010 at 10:49 am

It all depends on how much sleep I got the night before. If I had enough, I’m up and at it! If not, then I snooze about 3-4 times. Generally though, I like to be up and just take the time to relax and eat breakfast in peace. I don’t like rushing out the door, because its sets the wrong tone for my day.

Hehe! That’s an awesome pic of Murphy! :) My pup, Beaufort is not a morning-dog either. I consider myself a “morning person” more than a “night person,” but my first thought upon waking is “COFFEE NOW.” I’m addicted in the worst way! All I need is just one cup though, and I’m ready to rock!

I’m SUCH a morning person. I set my alarm for much earlier than it needs to go off, just so I have time to fully relax and enjoy breakfast/coffee while watching the news in the AM. My roommate doesn’t understand how I can bound out of bed with so much energy while she stumbles into the bathroom.

I am TOTALLY a morning person! I love mornings. The first thing I think when I wake up is “what workout am I doing this morning”? I love to workout in the early morning, it starts my day off right. And I usually have planned the night before what I am doing in the morning!

Reply

Amber K July 29, 2010 at 12:08 pm

Being a morning person totally depends on whether it was easy or hard for me to fall asleep the night before, lol!
