Excuse Me, Sir

July 26, 2010

Umm…

IMG_0002.JPG

Excuse me, sir, you know you’re not supposed to have that stuffed pug.

IMG_0004.JPG

Murphy knew I was watching his every move, but he didn’t care. What a butthead.

Lunch

I had a few sushi rolls leftover from last night’s dinner, so I added them to a big salad for lunch today. I thought the rolls might taste funky sitting in the fridge overnight, but they didn’t at all.

Also in the mix: lettuce, celery, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, feta, and Goddess dressing.

After lunch, I whipped up a batch of chocolate “soft serve” using a frozen banana, 1/2 scoop of chocolate protein powder, and a splash of soy milk. Delish!

Coffee + Grinder Deal

Last month’s Caftea promo went so well, we decided to team up again. You know how I love all things pumpkin, so check what we came up with:

cc585.jpg

Carrots ‘N’ Cake Special Edition Pumpkin Spice Coffee!!! Cool, right!?

The coffee is whole bean, so to sweeten the deal, we’re throwing in a La Pavoni Mill Grinder, which you can get in black or white. (You can read more about the grinders here.)

So, for just $29, you get 8 ounces of special edition Pumpkin Spice Coffee and a La Pavoni Mill Grinder in black or white!! Sounds like a good deal to me! :-D

Don’t ya’ just love it when they know they’re being bad, but choose to do it any way?! Mine does the same thing, he’ll grab my rolled up socks and toss them in the air then run away, as if he didn’t do it. But how can you be mad at them when they’re so darn cute!

Don’t you know it’s Murphy’s world, and you’re just allowed to live in it?

Hey Tina, How do you make your soft serve? I’ve heard some people use a Vitamix, but I don’t have one. Will the blender work? :)

Beth @ Beth's Journey to Thin July 26, 2010 at 2:08 pm

Haha such cute pictures of Murphy!! I looove sushi. Totally agree that it’s a little touch and go with it in the fridge overnight but glad to hear yours was good today too!

@Annie: A blender or food processor should work. Just make sure you slice up the frozen banana first.

Murphy is too cute. Reminds me of my daughter. She is almost 2 and will just look at me and do exactly what I said not to. But I still can’t help but laugh and think she is adorable.

Murphy is hilarious! My 2 year old niece acts like that too — she knows she is doing something naughty but will do it anyway and then she’ll give you this smile and say with her eyes “what are you going to do about it? I’m too cute!”

Anna @ Newlywed, Newly Veg July 26, 2010 at 2:50 pm

Ha!!! I hate it when my dogs do that!! Our little terrier will just STARE at me when he does something that’s pissing me off. In the winter, he has been known to take a poop right in front of me, while looking at me with this look like, “What are you gonna do about it?”

Our cats always climb on the table while we’re eating. I mean, they know we’re just going to yell at them, right? Crazy pets!

I never take leftover sushi home because I’m afraid it will go bad, but I’m glad to know it stayed fresh!

Reply

Corey July 26, 2010 at 3:05 pm

Haha my dog does things like that all the time..hard to get mad when they’re so cute though!
Have you ever been to Genki Ya (http://genkiyabrookline.com/) in Brookline for sushi? It’s mostly organic and you can even get brown rice sushi! I would recommend trying it :)

I love the idea of sushi rolls in a salad. You could ever use Bragg’s liquid aminos for a dressing (I love it as a low sodium version of soy sauce)!

Reply

Megan (Braise The Roof) July 26, 2010 at 5:07 pm

Haha, Murphy totally knows what he’s doing…he must be entering his adolescent years. ;)

Reply

Jessica July 26, 2010 at 5:25 pm

Your salad looks really delicious, but I’m not a big sushi fan so I’d probably sub with some beans or bean burgers. Your naughty little Murphy was enjoying himself, wasn’t he? BTW – I love the color of your walls…beautiful!
